PS: Please replace Greene with anyone from Ontario. He's currently reminding me of Roman Polak in the Stanley Cup Final: on the ice for every goal against, looking completely lost.

it was as always good. i try to make it to at least 10 or so games but the reign games are more convenient so I cut it back to flyers and chicago.

the ceremony was great. the laser show was a huge surprise upgrade. good crowd. got to see couturier pot 2. the kings as a whole looked desperate but king himself was the most noticeable player on the ice... he and toffoli clique. (and i am an open hater of king)

fans were cool til jordan nolans penalty and they started chirping a bit. mostly lots of nods and smiles between people in orange and one guy asked if I saw the reuniting of legion of doom... he speculated that they'd do the triple crown line and he flipped out when they did.

That's awesome to hear, Matt! Glad you enjoyed your night at Staples and with the fans. I can't imagine how great that ceremony and opening was live. So much Kings' and NHL history on the ice.

I have yet to catch a Reign game <ducks!!> but I'm sure I will, here in the near future. Getting ready to start picking weekend games for me and the boy to attend. As I mentioned in one of these threads, we do about 5, sometimes more, a year. This year it will probably be closer to 5 than 10.

-As for the practice, there was work on transition, in-zone work, and the goalie-slaughtering three-on-zero rushes that the team will roll through a few times a year to foster burying the puck. When it was over, they got a pretty healthy bag skate.

The ASG was hosted in LA in 1981 when they were a line for it. It was a "memorable Moment" for the organization.

Sucks that the Kings are going to stink right as Kopi takes over as captain. Not fair to his overall legacy as a player, but what can you do.

Anze is the 2nd greatest player to ever play for this franchise and I feel like his career is going to be short changed a bit. Never had a winger worthy of playing with him coupled with playing for mostly defensive oriented coaches will hurt his numbers. And while I have no issue with Quick winning it in 2012, that 2014 Conn Smythe should have gone to Kopitar.

I would say so, yeah.

Put Kopitar on any Kings teams in the 80s and he's a perennial 110 point center without sacrificing much of his defensive game in the process.
