Absolutely!

Saw him in the Winnipeg Arena at a Jets-Kings game many years ago. He signed my son's ticket. He asked who should I sign it to? My son said "Me"! So "To Me" it became!

Brady really needs some "coaching" on how to play strong defensively in the D zone without the puck (positioning, containment, blocking shots, breakouts, etc.)

I also like "What about Bob?" starring Steve Martin and Richard Dreyfus.

What About bob is with Bill Murray.....but that's another one of my fave comedic actors. ;)

I don’t know about you guys, but I haven’t felt this optimistic in a while about this team. I expect them to win every night, not just compete. I like how the D were guarding the net and protecting the goalie. Any rebound or loose puck off Ullmark and the players were quick to track the puck first to safety.

They need to stay healthy, when Perron joins and re-acclimates himself with the team, I think that’s as deep a forward good as any in the league. I have been pleasantly surprised how well even the 4th line performed, especially Gaudette and Ewwwy MacEwen.

Hammer hasn’t looked that bad as the 6th D in the past two games, although shoring up the 3rd pair is a deadline play if the team is in postseason contention (which I fully expect).

The Leafs boards is calling her a DEI hire. On the day Ken Holland got named a "Hockey Operations Consultant" by the NHL.

The Leafs board is nothing but dried leaf coloured shit. f*** em.

Boys came out flying. Pretty sure shots were like 10-1 at one point. Almost perfect road game and seeing Jeff ONeil with a Sens jersey on made my night.

Great game, but they gotta clean up the penalties. Cousins is pretty useless out there too. Taking penalties in the offensive zone. Matthews in the lineup might have been the difference on those power plays.
When Matthews was in the line-up, their PP was 4 goals in 40 attempts. Since Matthews has been out of the line-up, they've gotten 6 (or 7) goals on 13 attempts. They all try to give the puck to AM which all teams have figured out. It was similar to when the Sens always tried to get it to Norris, it no longer worked. The fact that our PK was 100% tonight shows how well they were playing.

Ottawa can only play the team in front of them and what they got was an overconfident team that had won 3 games against a basement dweller (Montreal) that doesn't play defense, an overrated team (Detroit) and a team that was struggling at the time (Boston).

It's funny Jeff O'Neill talked about them being on a roll on the panel. It's good they picked up those points and it's something Ottawa needs to get better at too but those weren't wins against tough opponents and at the first sign of adversity Toronto folded. I'm sure they'll be fine and they will start winning again but I'm seeing the same issues Toronto has always had that has led to them not having success in the playoffs.
I agree. Take away their time and space, they don't produce. Their goalie was the only good player on the ice.

The problem is, we've seen them play well and then completely shit themselves the next game, so we need to see some consistency

the next 5 games will be a good test

flyers, hurricanes, oilers, knights, canucks

getting 6-7 points in this stretch would be huge
Well, they do seem to play better when facing playoff teams, will be interesting to see how they play against Philly. For me, that will be the true test on whether they understand on what it takes to win. If they come out flat, that means there's still some work to do.

Not a coincident. If Sanderson's pairing plays consistently like last night (which they are very capable of) and Ullmark plays like last night consistently(which really wasn't anything too special for his capabilities) then we will have several shutouts this season and several games like last night.
So what time did you have to get up to watch this game? At least it was worth it. 😉

Interesting comment re: Kenzie's view of it is tough working with CP. I wonder what Kenzie finds to be "tough"? That is a "warning sign" to me about Kenzie.

Washington fans were saying he had slowed immensely and was not playing well. Could it be that we have been watching crappy D for so long that Jensen looks great? Nah. I like the way he plays.
I remember some Caps fans saying he had terrible D partners last year which could explain is poorer play. But who cares? He's been great here.

Except this time we finally saw them breakthrough in terms of not only battling (like against Avs and Vegas but losing) but actually achieving somewhat one-sided wins, where they have allowed 1 goal in two games. On the road. I see a positive pattern emerging, but I agree that they need to build on it to provide consistency. I do expect hiccups, but they have shown the ability to rebound.

The Leafs board is a cesspool of toxic masculinity.

There's a lot of sexist comments being made over there not just limited to Kenzie.

I also thought that Kenzie did great, and my wife, who isn't too much into hockey, was really impressed by her as well.

We know they are capable of doing it. But they still have to do it.

Yes, some people have started to refer to it as Didn't Earn It.
Which again is hilarious in the context of the NHL of all places, the most old-boys'-club of N.A. sports.

Yknow, the league where you can actively cover up sexual misconduct and assault so well that the person later on goes on to do it again to a teenager, then sit out for a couple years befoee you get right back into one of the handful of most prestigious hockey jobs on earth.

God forbid we let a woman call the games.

Imagine if we called out all the non-minority hires that didn't earn it with the same vitriol as some do for under-represented groups.

I have no issues with calling out hires when they don't have the required experience or meet the set standards for the role, but it seems the majority of the noise is just culture war nonsense, so as soon as someone complains about DEI, I see it as an indicator that person can probably be safely ignored.

We live in an age of criticism, and everyone hates it, so we feel it’s the age of outrage.

One things phones have done is given everyone the false license to judge and crticize everything they see

One of the smartest things I’ve heard in the last 20 years is from Jill Lepore who as elite as they get but she said in her University classs when she puts an idea in front of her students they can all critisize it and rip it apart like a lawyer but when she asks them to say something good about the idea they can’t - their brains are educated to point out the flaws and what’s wrong but none of the good and what’s right. Hence 2024

Anyways, the Leafs suck and are the softest fanbase ive ever seen and Mitch Marner only ever takes soft dumps and in the playoffs he can’t even take a dump because he’s to scared and it shows in his game
