Imagine if we called out all the non-minority hires that didn't earn it with the same vitriol as some do for under-represented groups.

I have no issues with calling out hires when they don't have the required experience or meet the set standards for the role, but it seems the majority of the noise is just culture war nonsense, so as soon as someone complains about DEI, I see it as an indicator that person can probably be safely ignored.

Which team has $12M cap hit available for taking him on?

Not many, I assume. Only way I see it happening is if there is a team later in the season dumping players and salary that needs to spend to league minimum. They'd get cap credit for 12 but pay, say, 8. Not as many unserious owners and teams as in past seasons.
