Game #15 11/08/14: Kings 5, Canucks 1. Thank goodness for rivals!

So is any of the hockey night in canada segments available anymore on the web for those of us not in Canada?

In past years I enjoyed the post game stuff on those broadcasts and stuff like that. With their new TV contract, I don't really see anything on line but I may be looking in wrong places.

Anyone know?

Martinez haters? I didn't know such a group existed. Anyhow, he needs to be locked up. There aren't any replacement options ready to step in to fill his role, not in the UFA market or in the system. He's versatile, can be used in any situation, and isn't a liability.

Whereas a guy like McNabb shows how limited he is in what he can and can't do, the Kings can't afford to lose Martinez.

Anyone catch Gaborik's area pass to spring Kopitar? He made a similar play last year against the Ducks to spring Carter on a break... not only can he score goals, but can set guys up as well!

On Martinez.... the reason a lot of people were saying he's going is because he's capable of more then a 3rd pairing. I don't see Sutter ever running with Martinez/Voynov as a pairing... so that leaves Martinez/Doughty... which would only happen if Muzzin is moved... so if he resigns it looks like 3rd pairing with pk/pp...

It's nice to have 3 lines that can be a threat... goes a long way to holding the puck in the offensive zone and making things easier on the D.

I honestly dont think that McNabb will be here in a few years, he reminds me of Ellerby. He constantly misses his hits and has not shown his "big shot" that I heard about.

I laugh at the people that think RR is the problem, he's not the problem, Greene is.

4 more years..

No, Greene is fine on the bottom pair. The problem is that Greene, Regher, and McNabb should never be paired with one another and right now we have no choice. If each of those guys is paired with a dude that can actually pass the puck, we'll be fine.

Perhaps haters was a little strong. There are several posters that feel hes nothing more then a bottom pairing defenseman that isn't capable of top 4 mins. I want to see if they still feel this way or is he finally changing minds/

There is also the idea of actually trading Slava. I think after the dust settles he would bring back a good haul. At least a 1st and good prospect or bottom pairing defenseman that can replace alec Also it would help get us out of cap hell we are in right now.

Funny you should mention this big shot I actually was impressed last night he took a couple of nice shots i thought it was a mart or muzzin but it was Mcnabb He hit the net both time with a heavy looking shot imo

I just really dislike McNabb's skating and find it to be a huge drawback. He seems to fall or lose his balance more often than not. I never feel comfortable when he's on the ice unless he's out there with Doughty.

I don't really have a problem with McNabb... right now he's a 7'th D that is being asked to play a larger role... it isn't pretty, but after living through Muzzin's growing pains seeing McNabb fall on his face occasionally doesn't bother me much...

Of course, if the Kings are trying to win everything 1-0 then it's hard to break in a new D.... if the Kings can gernate offense then they won't lose games while McNabb gets it together.

McNabb certainly has time to pull it together, but right now it ain't pretty.

my sentiments exactly.

its way early in the season to think he can put it together in such a short time, if he hasn't shown improvement by mid April, then I'd be worried come playoff time but for now let him go through his growing pains.

I'm not bothered by McNabb's play at all. Once everybody is fit for duty again he'll either be pulling 12-15 minutes a night or in the press box as the #7.

I was thinking this as well last night. McNabb is currently just an angry Ellerby. However, obviously the org saw something they really liked and can 'deprogram' from his time in Buffalo, so with what they gave up to acquire McNabb, I doubt they give up on him so soon. He's playing well considering he's just stepped right in with not much time in the system and in minutes above his head. I think he's here for a while with Greene.

Few videos on the left side. Toffoli, Williams, Dought, game summary.

With Regehr gone at the end of the season, they're going to have to find a replacement at some point. McNabb was brought in to be his successor but I'm not sure he'll be ready to fill that role next season unless he suddenly develops at an insane rate, which I don't anticipate happening.

Took Muzzin a few years in Manch and a full NHL season and a half to find his groove.

McNabb has had his time in the AHL (to bad for us it was in Buffalos system) so he will need a year or two like most young defensemen do but has all the tools to fit in nicely. Fans will need to stay calm and patience like most didn't do with Muzzen or any other young guy working thru the changes.

Yeah, McNabb hasn't spent the time in our system like our other D prospects have - so he's had to absorb a lot in a shorter time. I'm not worried about him - it's way too early to judge.

Similarly, I think Schultz benefited from his time learning the system in Manchester and that's why he was pretty solid in the playoffs last year.

Top line had a great showing. Gabby and Kopi had their legs, 70's trio epic again. Carter with the snipe was a thing of beauty. Refreshing to see them rebound and dominate.

Wish i could have watched it but was having dinner with the GF's family (first meeting) and it took her mom 30-ish mins to bring up the Ducks and their superiority. Suffice it to say i got brownie points for holding back laughter and serious arguments. I was only able to work in the Avian Flu, to which they (mom and GF) were a little slow on the reference. Why do duck fans love fairy sooo much?

Tell them "the Ducks are built for the regular season" and I'm sure they will take it as a compliment.

My GF's family are Ducks fans too. Only they have only been to one game back in 93 and can't name a single person on the roster (so your typical Ducks fan). It pisses them off that my GF supports the Kings we me. I know how hard it is to hold back in those situations, so props to you for doing it.

I took my current GF to a hockey game for the first time in her life about a year ago and she dug it. (She's been in this country six years, emigrated from China.) Can't remember the opponent, but we got a late couple of goals and Staples went nuts.

But for some reason, she started to gravitate towards the Ducks, with the idiotic misconception that since she lives in Orange County, she should root for the local team. It didn't help when we attended a game in Honda and we got beat.

Thankfully, the series against ANA and the ultimate Cup run made her see the error of her ways. Front runner!

McNabb will get better. He needs a game or two off. Think of 2013 Muzzin

I could see McNabb going either way... while not old the fact that he is 23 and I keep thinking he is a kid just coming up from the AHL does worry me... I don't think he will be around long term.

Kopi's snipe just gets more amazing every time I watch it. He actually banked that thing in off the side of Miller's head, LOL.
Carter's shot was perfect too, although actually Toffoli's touch pass was just as perfect. A thing of beauty.
