Those are extremely low standards for our 7 million dollar first line center. A shot on goal and two passes? Brown needs to be a lot better but to act as if he's the only forward not pulling his weight is way off base. And expectations for Kopitar should be much higher than those for Brown.

I said he could be better, but Brown was worse.

And considering both players are first liners, they should be equally high standards, particularly since Brown is the captain.

No, hes the driving force of that team. Id take Hall or Eberle over any winger on the Kings, yes even Brown

Problem with Hall is that he's going to injure himself out of the league by age 25, and he's doing all the work. Kid is talented, but totally wild.

Anyhow, glad we won, wish it would have come a little easier though. Tough grind it out win on the first night of a back to back doesn't bode well for tomorrow, but 2 points is 2 points...

To be honest, Hall scares me at times as well.

Definitely agree that we don't have the size to compete in legitimate 5 on 5 play, as well as the serious lack of defensive-mindedness from our top 6.

Something needs to get done.

I thought the Kings put on most of the pressure from what I saw and while I won't say I'm happy to see the Kings get the last minute goal, it's sort of nice to see things sort of balanced out from the last game.

You guys still Harping on Brown uhh.

When you guys going to learn.

The guy is never going to be a consistent winger NEVER.

NEVER NEVER NEVER.

Wait till he has his month of Hitting everyone, and scoring.

It happens every year, just like Kopitar's slumps.

It's who Brown is.

Thanks for that.

Hall is either going to become a world beater or break his neck. Kid just plays out on the edge and not in that "he's pushing the envelope" way. More like "somebody stop him, he's going to hurt himself" way.

Super talented heck elite level talent. I just hope he makes it.

Is that a Gorilla high fiving a shark in your avatar because if it is I am putting witnessing that act on my bucket list. There has to be a zoo in Mali or the Phillipines somewhere that will do it for a few bucks.

Props to Nolan for his second effort that led to the Fraser goal. It made the puck bounce and directly resulted in an Edmonton defender not being able to clear the puck away. That's the type of "never say die" act that will haul this team up into a playoff spot.

Sutter really needs to put kerosene on Kopitars butt and get a fire lit under him.

I will take that win.

Carter is money, plain and simple.

Our offense needs to pick up badly, hopefully they can build off this game, especially since a back to back maybe they can keep the mojo going more easily.

Sutter needs to healthy scratch him. Maybe that will wake his ass up.

When you look like you are skating in sand on "the best ice surface of the league" then you are clearly having issues.

Neither was good - not debating that. I was just responding to your initial post that Brown is the only glaring problem at forward - a false statement.

Playing on the first line is not the same thing as being a first line forward. In no way should the expectations for Brown be the same as Kopitar. The expectations of him as a captain are different and is not really measurable by us fans. But even then, should we expect more of Ellerby than Voynov just because Keaton is on the first pairing? Or should we expect more of Matt Greene than Doughty or Mitchell just because he's an assistant captain? Of course not.

Kid is talented but I just don't see elite in him. I could be eating my words later though. He just looks like he has wheels, kind of like grabner.

Hey, can you guys help me out here?

I was told that Carter is "un-clutch" and he doesn't score big goals.

Clearly the people who told you that are absolute, 100% correct.

I mean, what has the ****ing guy really done for the Kings?

Let's see. Hat trick in a WCF game. OT winner on the road in game 2 of the SCF. Game winner to secure the Cup; added another goal to put the Devils on ice in the same game.

Oh. As far as this season goes, 7 goals on a team where no one else can score, apparently. He's kept them in the discussion this season.

So no, he is obviously not a ****ing clutch player. Useless. Need to send him back to 'lumbus.

Don't forget the explosion in the background!

According to Mayor, Kopi is going to keep on the knee brace the entire season. I think he might get some work done on it afterwards. :help:

maybe when the kings get a legit 1st line winger.

No.

I will take him on the Kings in a New York minute.

Agree and in fact Hall is the main spark to the Oiler offense, the guy who starts stuff and pushes the play in the offensive zone without any need of outside influence (like coach telling you to shoot more or any trade rumors). In fact he's exactly the type of player LA needs the most this season.

It was still a step up for him. Every year before this one a bad game from Kopitar was him being invisible. This year is the first time he has ever stood out by making bad plays multiple times per game. That didn't happen this game. It's obviously not good enough but it's a welcome sign since it means he is healing and getting it together.

For Brown, this game was less inferior than his last, also trending upward.

They'd better get it together soon or there will be no playoffs in this short year.

I don't understand the Kopitar hate. I've seen every professional game he's ever played and he's clearly nursing some nagging injury. There was a specific play tonight where he got tied up in the corner, had all his weight pushed to one leg, and his knee just buckled from under him. He's still playing with a knee brace. His strength simply isn't there. Yes, I'd like to see him play better and yes there are no excuses, but an injury is an injury. Dude is not 100%.

What's Brown's excuse? Unless he's nursing injuries, as well, he's gone back to same old Brown - terrible shot, turnovers, falling down all the time. For a captain that's allegedly 100% physically and who we've SEEN play like a total stud, he's been a mess.
