+/- does count with empty netters.

Just when I thought Muzzin had one of his better games, people think otherwise.

Best players last night IMO

Voynov, Scuds, Williams (he should not be so sloppy though), Carter, Lewis.

hope we wont make another back-up goalie vezina candidate..

haha we do tend to make tenders look good.
Last year our play against the wild made me feel like Matt Hackett was a shoe t obe a elite goalie in the NHL.
With Harding out Hackett didn't even get the call this year!

If you are talkign about me I agree that Muzzin had one of his better games. I am jsut very cautious about it.

No just in general. ;)

In the GDT I also saw some negative comments. Of course he had his usual stuff but I've seen worse. He had some hits as well. The way he played last night, he does not hurt the team IMO. After all he is a bottom pairing defenseman.

I also remember that dominant shift of him, what you were saying already. I had to look at his jersey number if it was true what I was seeing.

Voynov got eaten alive a few times last night, guy needs to make contact with the puck carrier and keep his head up. Agree with the rest though, Carter is clearly the best skater on the team right now. The thing that tells me is this team needs more shooters, they make some awfully cute passes/plays every once in awhile when just shooting the puck on net does the trick. Meat & potatoes hockey gets it done for the Kings, when they go surf and turf they don't look so hot.

I've never seen a team cherry pick as much as the Oilers. The play is going on in the Oilers zone and Yakupov is sitting up between the blue & red lines. Even Hemsky was doing it. That team isn't going to go to far when you've got forwards that ignore the defensive aspect of the game.

Then you need to come play in our "pro's only" Wednsday night pick up games in St Johns. The only time anyone goes into the D zone is when the puck gets stuck in the corners and the goalies are afraid to leave the crease out of fear that someone will run up, snag the puck for a one timer pass to a buddy.

5 on 5 all O all the time.

Its a long drive but if you want to see Cherry picking that makes last night look like a game of well played chess then come on over.

Actually, a few of the Oilers would fit right in after last nights display.

Hackett should be a good one, though he's having a bit of a down year. Don't look at the fact he didn't get recalled as a bad thing, look at at it like Kruemper is just that good. The kid has great upside. I think he'll be like a MA Fluery when at his peak.

Does the :sarcasm: mean that you don't mean that we need to use a :sarcasm: when being :sarcasm:.

Because I think using :sarcasm: or  or any of the other emoticons is kind of silly.
:sarcasm:?

"I'm Ron Burgundy?"

;)?
:sarcasm:

I think it means we need at least 48.78% more :sarcasm: per post in this forum.

:sarcasm:

sounds like Bernier is starting

As he should. No need to play Quick two straight nights. Plus, as a bonus, he can showcase for his new team come the trade deadline! :handclap:

As a Kings fan in Calgary I am a little loyal to the Shames. I would love it if Bernier came here. I could still cheer for him.

Assuming the Kings are in the playoff picture at the deadline and teh Flames are out of it, I really expect we'll take a shot at Iginla, assuming he's available. Bernier+ would be a very likely package.

For a rental? Love Iginla but not for that

with the goalie debacle in vancouver and now hiller might be available, bernier might not get much interest.

Doubt that, 1 injury to Quick and we are done if we traded Bernier, making the aquisition of Iginla pointless

Well if Quick gets hurt, we wouldn't deal Bernier. And if youa re referring to Quick getting hurt after the tarde well, no offense, but I'm not counting on us going far with Bernier as our starter either.

As for the market value, that's what the cost on Iggy will likely be. I don't blame you for not wanting to pay it, but look at the return of rental forwards in past years that were stars, like Kovalchuk and Hossa. It was a regular NHLer, a good prospect, a 1st round pick and another asset.

Heck, Penner cost us a 1st, a 3rd and a second tier prospect and he's nowhere close to Iginla.

I could see Iginla costing us a 2014 first, a 3rd, Bernier and a prospect like Linden Vey to be honest.

Before you all blast me btw, I'm not saying I'm advocating for that trade, I'm saying that's what the cost would be and that I could see us trading for him.

I agree if Iginla is available and IF we go after him we would have to give up more than Bernier. Prices for players sky rocket at the deadline..remember Gausted got a 1st and he was an upcoming UFA!!

Penner wasn't a rental, he was signed for another year at the time of the trade.

I agree that his name would cost, but I would hope DL would just pass on him. He has 1 goal this season.

and the weekly lovefest for Iggy resumes

good god go away...72 years old and using a walker, someone will still want to pull the trigger on him because of his 'leadership' and 'intangibles'

I used to tell my guys if we were up by 3 or 4 going into the last period that we didn't need any more goals and shouldn't risk any long passes getting intercepted.

Unless I was open of course, and like most NFL receivers, I'm always open!!!
