I have not been this excited to go to a game in years. First time I will get to see my team as stanley cup champions!!

Penner wasn't a rental, he was signed for another year at the time of the trade.

Very good point, and I forgot that. My overall point still stands though.

I agree that his name would cost, but I would hope DL would just pass on him. He has 1 goal this season.

I agree, I hope DL would pass at that price as well, and I think he will.

and the weekly lovefest for Iggy resumes

good god go away...72 years old and using a walker, someone will still want to pull the trigger on him because of his 'leadership' and 'intangibles'

I assume this is directed at me this week, since I brought up Iggy.

It's not a lovefest, especially not on my part (though I do thing Iggy would be a perfect addition to our line up). It's a combination of the facts that we are the defending cup champions, that we need help on the wings, that we can't take on a long-term big contract without sending one back the other way (and arguably only Stoll would fit that criteria of guys we'd actually be willing to move) due to the fact we will be very tight to the cap next season, and that Calgary, if they are on the outside looking in at the trade deadline, would likely be well advised to trade a veteran who is a UFA after the season and hasn't stated that he wants to or intends to resign in Calgary next year.

It's just the fact of the NHL landscape. Heck, the annual rumours about Alfie getting traded are already floating around as well, for much the same reasons (though to be fair, they likely wouldn't be if Spezza and Karlsson weren't hurt for the season).

Calgary very well could trade Iginla, assuming he is willing to be traded, and if he is, the defending Stanley Cup champions would appear to be an ideal location, both for Iginla to get his long-sought after cup, and for the Kings to fill a glaring need. Expect it to be a weekly lovefest until he resigns in Calgary or gets traded.

Nah, they felt they could make the playoffs still, and as long as you can make the playoffs you got to hold onto your stars.

Puck doesn't care about us anymore :(

With all the Dwight King hate around here recently I was glad to see him get a point last night. I know some of you will disagree but I thought he had a pretty solid game.

Also, Dustin Brown seems inerested in flattening people again which is a pretty good sign.

I will be in the lower bowl. fans there are not rowdy. so i should be fine.

I used to tell my guys if we were up by 3 or 4 going into the last period that we didn't need any more goals and shouldn't risk any long passes getting intercepted.

Unless I was open of course, and like most NFL receivers, I'm always open!!!

I am always open TOO!!!!!
(from the blueline)

So you are telling me that you are one of those highly defencive minded guys then. Once you get up by just a tiny little bit you tell em to shut er down?

You can't take away the taste of blood from a bears mouth!

Ahh the joys of beer league...
:handclap:

Nope this game made me realize how good he is going to be. He was penetrating us easier than a drunk girl on prom. Actually in the first all of the oilers were. Hall was hitting and had a lot of good scoring attempts. Very noticable game.
QUICK PLAYED LIKE QUICK!!

No front net presence just speed and fancy moves but shots goalies can see so they are easy saves. Until they get somebody in front of the net just like the Kings need to do they will not score consistently.

Perro don't know what drunk girls you hang out with but the ones I've known don't penetrate guys.

So you've never been to Thailand then? ;)

Kidding of course, just kidding.
:handclap:

Oh and this one is for you kf,
:sarcasm:;):help:

Thought I would lump them all together for the sake of space saving.
:sarcasm:?

King was decent. He has a big body and should try to go the slot more often, to release a shot. Or crash the net. I dont see anything of that anymore.

He picks up the puck along the boards. Than he skates like a chicken without its head straight forward. Puck gone.

Sometimes there's space to do something different but he doesnt even try. He plays like he's 5'10''.

i agree king played a good game and also that brown was throwing his weight around, hes a streaky scorer but he can make in impact on the game with physical play, it was good to see him play with purpose
