I think they currently are getting the best from them.

They are simply not good enough to win much more than they lose in the NHL.

Stutzle tkatchuk Sanderson they are NOT bringing you anywhere.

Batherson Norris??? Cmon.

The problem isn’t depth. The problem is the top of our lineup cannot beat their opposition more than they get beaten
Too harsh!

Why average anymore? Because we're missing Zub and Pinto? Or are we just average? I don't understand anymore. Tkachuk, Stutzle, Giroux, Norris, Batherson, Sanderson, Chabot, Jensen, Ullmark with good role players and we're average? I hope you're wrong and this was a blip, I can't take it anymore
With Zub, Pinto and Perron back we'd be an ok team, but every team goes through injuries. Ultimately we're in that bundle of bubble teams, and playoffs for those teams will be decided by health and goaltending.

I sure also hope I'm wrong though!

They have enough talent to make the playoffs if they played a complete game, for sure.

But this team doesn't have the personnel to play a complete consistent game.

And they're not talented enough to win a championship. We need to somehow draft a superstar or hit the jackpot with a Datsyuk/Zetterberg/Alfie/stone type of late pic.
The team was short its 3rd line C, 1st pair RD, and 2nd/3rd line W. That means we were missing talent that could have helped in this game with Buffalo.

Buffalo played very well, finishing their checks and stifling our offensive players. They earned the win; we deserved the loss.

Our top players failed to score goals and prevent goals against. The Sabres also seemed to get the bounces their way; we did not.

This was definitely a LOST OPPORTUNITY to remain above .500 and in the playoff race. A meaningful game that the team screwed up!

Coaching issue or just bad habits players learned over the years from coaching issues.

Lack of depth and 200ft game from all our players.

We can get away with it when we can choose the matchups each faceoff.

When we can't, it means we get caught with players who don't know how to play a complete game and we get scored on.

Go back to like 2003 sens and almost every forward was known to also be good defensively. Hossa was known to be good defensively. Same with Alfredsson..same with bonk. Same with white. Same with Fisher..same with Schaefer. Same with Van Allen. Even havlat was an elite PKer and got his offense by turning over the puck by being in good position.

So it didn't matter which of the 4 lines was on the ice. It was going to be defensively responsible and take care of their own end first.

Brady? Nope.

Stutzle? Nope.

Batherson? Nope.

These guys aren't known as good defensive forwards.

Good at home. Bad on road. Why?
Good at home because of the crowd pumping you up, probably some friends and family in the building.

Bad on the road because the team has not matured enough to come out with the same intensity and mindset that they have at home.

A lot of good teams will often talk about how it can be easier to play on the road. Sometimes for the opposite reason it is good to play at home. No family or friends distracting you, no crying baby or kids at home to think about.

We were missing talent, but not enough to use it as an excuse, Every team deals with injuries.

Either the Sens are a middling .500 team with respect to talent or they are not being coached correctly.

It is early in the season but there are holes in this team. Can't win on the road. Ullmark has 2 wins and 4 losses with an .892 save percentage.

Time will tell but it is disheartening to see the Sens have so much time between games and then just get runover by a bottom team on a three game losing streak.

Injuries happen to every team. We cant use it as an excuse.

Picture the sens of old that were actually a good team.

Hart nominee Yashin decides to miss the whole year? No worries, playoffs here we come. Bonk takes over.

Alfredsson often got injured. He played 55,58,57 games consecutively...what did the sens do? Make the playoffs. Fisher used to miss quite a few games. Havlat too.

Fisher had seasons of 60,58,24...what did the sens do? Make the playoffs every year.

Havlat? 67, 68, 18...missed a month straight in consecutive seasons and almost a full season. What did sens do? Make the playoffs every year.

Good teams can get through multiple of their top players missing a month of the season because they have depth. injuries give players who were playing below their role the opportunity to step up and take the next step.

We don't have that depth.

Man, the Sens need to learn how to pick off the low hanging fruit if they hope to make it to the post season.

Ullmark was ass tonight, but we couldn't even get more than 1g up against the Sabres smh
Well they don’t do anything. They just shoot. And then after the game we say aaaahh other goalie was too good.

Bro our offense is elementary. We don’t move the puck around. We don’t get the goalies moving side to side. And we almost never open up opportunity where we can actually deke a goalie out lol.

Goalies just square up and stop our shots. It’s like that pre game practice drill for them

We clearly outplayed them until late in the second. Board is overreacting on this one.

Their goalie was just better than ours. At the end of the day, the goalie cost us the last game plain and simple.

That 2nd line is soft, I agree, but Pinto back will alleviate pressure off it because Pinto's line will be a dual threat as it was early in the season.
We 'clearly' outplayed them?

Did we watch the same game?

Sens in general need to be scoring more at 5v5

Dj should ah e been fired. I think this team is certainly better having had a bette coach when they were young.

But in terms of drafting?

Was Brady a bad pick? No. Was stutzle? No. Was Sanderson? No. And even then. They’re end enough. They can’t go head to head with other teams stars because other teams stars are better than them.

They needed to be coached to a TEE. And they were not.

They don’t have the skill to be a teams on skill.

And they don’t have the fundamentals to beat teams on that

They are players in complete limbo. Sanderson excluded but I think we and the coaches think Sanderson is something he’s not. Like the guy does nothing 5v5 and he gets some assists on the PP. he is not an offensive d man and likely never will be. He needs an elite partner an offensive one. Sanderson is the stabilizing force. Not the other way around.
need better picks later on in the draft, But I think Greig and Formenton would have been solid. Kleven also looks like a player so drafting wasn't too bad imo

Lots of wasted picks due to trade though.

And nothing for 3 straight years.

Yeah solid depth.

We need something better at the top tho. That wasn’t drafting that’s just luck

Your gonna have bad nights but you have to be dialed in for the games against division rivals your gonna be battling with for the last wild card spot.
