Edvinsson is genuinely incredible and I think he’s gonna be even better than seider. That pairing is insanely good

Chiarot and Petry are the pairing from hell

Overall good game. Would like to see more from Kasper, or send him down to build more offense. I was the biggest proponent of having him on the team; I’d give him 10-15 more games to try and get his offense going but after that if he’s still doing his best zadina impression out there I’d send him down
So much of this teams problem begins with us having by far the worse second pairing in hockey. It's not are only problem, but it'll go such a long way when we finally get a competent 2nd pairing.

berg- be gone with you. adds nothing and does nothing
kasper- needs to find the offense. maybe put him with raymond and compher, drop copp to 3rd/4th line
tank- has he done anything???
ajo-he needs to play more. he is our #3 dman right now.
petry/char- wtf is this pairing

this team is not going anywhere with what they have right now. no offense after the top line(w/ray on there, not kane).

The Red Wings page has him listed at 168, AHL has him listed at 185.

185 is still light for a defenseman who doesn't score. For comparison, Stecher is listed at 184 and Ghost at 183.

Pornstache is listed as day to day.

Johansson does have a history of scoring in Sweden, but never scored much in AHL, it's hard to say what kind of role he'll take on in the NHL. I hope he can turn into a Strålman type of player, in terms of size they're similar but Strålman is listed as 10lbs heavier, if we're going by Johansson being 185lbs.

But you're right, he should add more weight. He doesn't look very strong along the boards, and it doens't really look like he's walking around at 185lbs.

agree about ed. looks like a world beater.

not so sure about sending kasper down tho. i think pairing with berggren and giving with solid minutes also a good path from his developement and see if they can figure it out at an NHL level.

No. 1 priority for me this season was improving in their own end. Don't care if the offense dries up a bit, chances will come if they clean up their d-zone play and can regularly exit with possession. Tonight for me was a great example of what I want to see. Natural Stat Trick has them giving up only five High Danger chances 5v5, none in the third period. Aside from about a five-minute stretch in the second, they gave Chicago very little. Bedard was erased. Better zone exits too, AlJo is particularly good at reverses which give him better lanes for passing and clearing zone and he's a good influence on Gus who had by far his best game. We saw Chiarot, AlJo, Gus and Edvinsson jump up into plays, Ed constantly hunting for chances back-door. That's where offense can come from with this current set-up of one skill line, three grinding lines. Tough for Raymond, but I'd like to see how this works for a while. There is a much clearer team identitiy with this configuration: "Larkin, score. All you other guys, don't give up anything." Won't work long-term, might get them a WC spot short-term.

.It would be a terrible idea to send Kasper down. He's fitting in really well defensively and has a responsible approach to what he needs to do. He is the glue for that line not giving up much while they try to develop some offensive chemistry. One sequence stands out: Back-checking hard, bodying a guy off the puck in the neutral zone, taking the puck away and immediately moving it to a teammate in stride moving up-ice. He's always coming all the way back, doesn't bobble the puck, makes safe plays that advance possession. Influential on the forecheck, hunting down loose pucks, putting his body in the right places. Stop looking at boxscores to determine if he belongs. He does.

Petry is done.

Same on Ed.

If Kasper isn't gonna get sent down, then they should have him swap places with Copp. Put him on the wing and tell him to either score or feed Ray. Put him in a situation where he's more likely to succeed, even if it means Ray has to score off Marco's skate or maybe some empty netters. Babysitting two defensively inept players is keeping his mind focused on defense and limiting his aggressiveness on offense and also forechecking. The effort level is there, he deserves that chance before he gets sent down.

We got the least GA in the Atlantic. Let that sink in.^^
Talbot. Aside from the top pair the D still sucks.

NHL.com

Sadly I do not have much faith at the NHL's website having the most accurate information on NHL players.
That's on the team, not the NHL. They get that number from the team.

The other number comes from GR/AHL.

That's not a bad idea and I agree with the thinking behind it and what might be affecting Kasper, but I wouldn't go there yet. I wouldn't call Berggren defensively inept this season. He's not adept either, but his effort level has been quite good IMO and he's been a bit unlucky not to have more points from the chances that line has created. The guy not yet pulling his weight is Tarasenko. Main reason though for not wanting to do a Kasper-Copp switch is that I think their current positions are their better positions. Kasper's never played wing AFAIK and won't continue improving at C unless he plays there. The more Copp has the puck, the less effective he is and he doesn't have the same physical impact or dogged forechecking that Kasper already brings. But we'll see.

That was pure dominance from Edvinsson & Seider. They are turning into an elite pairing game-by-game.

Overall the best 5v5 effort of the season, not too much of a surprise given the opponent but still nice to see. With the chances they created this could have easily been a blowout.
Rasmussen I thought had an excellent game under the radar, and both Johansson and Kasper continue to show they belong.

I'm more concerned with his offensive output than his ability to play defense. Remember Larkin played on Z's wing and I don't think he played the position before either. Not to mention Z himself spent quite a bit of time on Datsyuk's wing.

Agree on Tank though. He's playing like he's burnt out on the game.

Ed is amazing

hes so underrated
Underrated by who?
This team is basically a one line team with one legit D pair and solid goaltending. The other 3 lines are basically just killing time. Teams have gotten into the playoffs with just one line, usually don't make it past the first round.
If we make playoffs we will be lucky to win one game. But I'll take it.

I would send Berggren down to play 20 min. If possible.
Holl is way better than Petry and it’s really not close. Gus was ok tonight so for now it should be ed-seider
Gus-johansson
Chia-holl
Petry
Holl is way better than Petry?
Why don't Yzerman and Lalonde see it then?
If we win the next two I’ll start to believe again
I am happy with 1 point, you want 4.
And he is younger 2-3 years

Great games by Larkin and his line, Edvinsson and Seider, and Talbot.

Chicago's really bad, I don't feel bad but, I feel bad for them, lol. They didn't look like a winner ever during that game.
