I always had the impression that DS had absolutely say on the team he ices and now, finally, DL put his foot down

And GREEEEEEEEEEEEENNNNNNNNEEEEE WTF lol!!!!

Dean Lombardi is the President and GM of hockey operations...Why wouldn't he have final say...

Sutter is paid to coach the team, not make roster decisions.

I figured the on ice roster was off-limits to anyone but Sutter. But after a couple seasons of underperforming, DL is finally asserting himself with the on-ice roster. Not just player-personnel

I don't know of a Single coach in the NHL that makes his own roster.

It's why Patrick Roy Quit his job (lack of input into roster). GM's don't pay coaches to make rosters, they pay them to coach the Roster.

I wasn't comparing DS with other coaches, Dam, respectfully. DS is ornery and I figured his on ice team was his deal (also being a former GM himself) and player personnel was DL until recently (this year)

Does anybody know where the visiting team leaves the staples center? For instance if they're going on a bus, are the fans able to meet them at any point?

Wait. Game to game I'm sure Sutter chooses who plays each day. Who is on the roster though, I would guess Sutter has input, but Lombardi is the GM.

Of course, I'm talking about the team he ices or players he calls up to augment, not player personnel

Sure Sutter picks who plays day to day, but he doesn't pick the NHL roster, who actually goes on it, pretty much no coach gets that luxury, unless the are also the GM. I am sure coaches have input, but why would you as a coach deal with call-ups....You don't coach the AHL team, you have no idea how any of those guys are playing day to day.

Babcock might be the only coach who has (major input) roster selection wise.
