Penner needs to stay far away from the lineup. He's like an anchor that brings everyone else's game down to a crawl, right at his level. He'll do absolutely nothing to help the team get out of this funk.

As good as penner was in PO. He's like cancer to his line when he's off.

He might. But the odds are he won't.

Can some people at least acknowledge that ?

Tofolli is not some dominant Winger in the AHL. He has to play all zones in the NHL.

Does he posses a good shot...Yes. Does that mean the Kings start scoring at 2.8 goals a clip...NO.

The Defense is a bigger problem right now as well.

I dont want Toffoli to razzle dazzle or to play a beautiful 200ft game. I want his shot, and the team can use his shot, he can stand there and look pretty as much as he wants, they should try passing it to him and see if he can snipe a few. That's what i want from him, im not expecting him to be flashy, doing 1on1 moves or anything. I just want him using his good shot.

People advocating scratching Richards are clueless. He did a solid job matching up against Datsyuk's line and prevented a goal. While they need more production from him, scratching him is pointless. He's the least of LA's problems. Defensive zone breakdowns and failure to convert on grand opportunities cost them this game.

What you just said is horse crap. Richard wasn't matched against the Datsyuk line - in fact Richards had 0 faceoffs vs. Datsyuk.
Meanwhile Datsyuk and Kopitar squared 12 times on the faceoff dot...

It was definitely a mistake to bring everyone back, that's obvious now, but it was a mistake nearly everyone was asking for. It's hypocritical to be angry over something we all advocated for and now we're seeing why teams haven't done that before. It was a good idea in theory but we're all getting what we deserve for wanting players signed over good playoff performances when we all knew they were poor in the regular season. Life goes on.

It is a good thing that this isn't a traditional back to back in the sense that the team won't be traveling overnight. They can get to St. Louis and get to sleep at the time of a normal person which lessens the impact of a regular back to back. Will still be hard to win that game.

Was there an agenda saying keep your shots low on Howard?
Yeah there were rebounds but elevating the puck would be goal and not rebound on some of these chances.

What don't you understand?

You clearly didn't read the rest of my post on that particular day. You looked in the vault for that bad boy, probably summer time. Either way I said a successful one would be re-signing Stoll/Penner but a winning off-season would be doing more than that. All I'm saying is people on the board said wow, when do you see a team bringing back the whole roster, it's amazing, blah blah. I clearly wrote on the post that we shouldn't stand pat instead of making our team better. Re-signing Stoll & Penner meant standing pat, it didn't mean getting better. But thanks for bringing my post up from May

Then you also have to be ok with the Turnovers that will come from his game. The weak board play, the Rookie mistakes he will make.

The Slumps he will go through, being knocked off the puck.

You are going to be ok with that ? Cause those things will eventualy cause goals against.

As long as you guys are ok with that, then I have no objection with Tofolli being brought up.

Might I remind people that what you are asking for, has ruined some prospects.

No of course it doesn't make any sense and it won't happen. He is a Richards basher and needs to post anti-Richards comments several times daily. He didn't even see the Kings game today and still made it a point to blame hime for the loss.

You're right. I am not a fan. I originally liked the trade and appreciated his contribution in the playoffs after a poor season, but come on, look how much money he is making and is going to make. Richards salary this year was 8 million, you think he is an $8 million player?

I have no issues with him as a 3rd line center, but with a cap hit close to $6 for the next 7 years, I think if someone made an offer the Kings would be dumb not to take it. How many 3rd line players are making that much money?

I know he is a favorite of yours, but come on, the Kings traded for and took on that massive deal expecting something close to the 07-10 version of MR, not a 3rd line center.

Why change up the lines after the Kings played their best game of the season?

And whether Quick played good or bad is irrelevant as far who should be starting tomorrow.

I agree, That was the fastest game the Kings played all season.

Legs moving, hitting, attitude, crashing the net. They looked great.

Why do you care about his salary, are you paying it? Nobody but the owner should care about how much actual money he's making this year.

This game is 100 percent on Quick and he's off to a really rough start this season. Unfortunate that the whole team showed up but Quick.

We have problems scoring more than 2 goals per game. Same issue as last season. Our D is not what it was last season since we lost two to injuries.n Our O still hasn't put it together. Can't fault Quick for any of that. 45+ shots, only 2 goals.... there is a lot more here than saying this is 100% Quick's fault.

This is how I look at it, there's a bunch of reasons for our unsuccessful season...

1) Guys clearly weren't ready for a season, starting with Mike Richards, Martinez, etc. You know these guys weren't training in the off-season, especially Richards, he looks horrible.

2) Non-conference plays means less easy 2 points because clearly the Eastern conference have weaker teams. Only western conference games mean every single game is crucial but that goes without saying.

3) Quick kind of looks hurt and Sutter doesn't trust Bernier, so he's going to run Quick to the ground.

4) No one's used to the success and having a target on their backs. This is a young team, they need to learn how to handle success

Plenty of shoot first centers in the league, problem is the Kings lack a playmaker on the wing.

Carter being able to play either spot is huge. I really like Carter and what he brings to the Kings, he is a true sniper, no matter what position he plays. I think ideally DL and DS want him on the wing, but with Richards season long no-show they had no choice I guess. Now it's up to DL to hopefully pull a deal for someone to play with Carter.

Williams can be a good playmaker at times and I am sure that's why he was playing withh Carter. I want to see how the Kings look tomorrow with the same lines against a team that isn't playing their 3rd game in 4 days.

I would be ok with the Kings even finding another playmaking center. I don't think Dean would mind Richards sliding down to the 3rd line on a permanent basis.

I think the ruining is when you put all your hopes on a prospect and rush him. We have many good players, he wouldn't have pressure as our past prospects would have. So ruining him is highly unlikely IMO.

That goalie on the other end had a whole lot to do with only 2 goals scored. If the Kings play like that against the guy who starts tomorrow they'll be unlucky not to get 5.

Sometimes we get in the habit of over-analyzing things when all we really could do about today's game is tip a hat. Howard was all over the place and we haven't went up a goalie playing that well since last regular season.

I don't think we need to bring Toffoli or anyone else up. Not yet.

Richards cap hit is only 5.7, that is about what everyone else is paying for a Second/Third line center.

I have no idea why anyone cares about that.

You know Martinez got hit in the face with a puck when playing over-seas and had facial surgey that has a metal plate in his face that's going to be there for life.
