The Quiet Corner
Heavily outgained Philly, defense gave up 18 points and 7 of those were a 26 yard drive after a Patriots fumble.

Honestly, they should have won but "bad" teams lose games like this. I miss being a buttoned up operation.

Is Daniel Jones turning back into a pumpkin

The pick six wasn't his fault= his receiver caught it but a hit by the defender popped the ball up into the air, other defender caught it & basically trotted into the end zone, no other Giant was even near him

Yup

the 10 callers who call wanting Sweeney fired are starting to call in trashing Belichick- funny listening them misuse big words

I never feel good when a Hocula is the ref and it’s being televised

No moral victory - it was there to win

What am I missing here
In my defense, I’ve been calling for Bill to be gone since he took a steaming shit on the team by putting his personal stuff above the teams interests during the lost Super Bowl vs Philly. The rest of the folks are just finally catching up to what a giant f***ing fraud of a person, coach, and gm he truly is. Not my fault I’m a trendsetter like usual. Bill is the problem here though and it won’t get better until he’s gone.

Watched Bill’s post game presser and he must have used the word “competitive” at least five times.

And that pretty much sums the team up post Brady.

They’re competitive. 7, 10, 8 wins.

Typically don’t get blown out.
Keep it close, even against teams that have more talent than they do.

But you can’t simply get by being merely competitive for the fourth season in a row. At some point you’ve got to take a step forward and contend again.

I guess everything is a matter of perspective because before the game I gave them no shot at beating the Eagles

True but even then nobody really knows anything before the games actually start. The way it unfolded they easily could have and probably should have won. But the pattern of crippling, self inflicted mistakes killed them.

Watching highlights and seeing that INT. Im critical of Jones but thats not even on him.
It was a horrible pass. He played pretty well on the day but that is gonna be the next step in his development. Either eliminate the dumb shit (delay of game was costly too) or be able to overcome them and produce a game winning drive. It's tough to win when you only score 20 and give the other team 14 points off turnovers.

His last 4 years on and off the field seem very turbulent and he’s never freaking. Wrong in his mind - he thinks by saying ‘gotta coach better play better blah blah’ he’s absolved. He is so arrogant he thought Brady was his creation and he could stick Patricia as an OC without any experience

The problem is his 2 kids are on the staff and I would have no problem if Mayo was the coach and they stayed - they both seem to not be arrogant and full of themselves

The other problem is he can’t really retire and go live on Nantucket because his former GF is there and won’t leave. No idea where the newer younger sporty model lives

Also when Belichick was photographed in New Orleans with that younger ‘thang’ wasn’t the combine or pro days going on and we were wondering why he wasn’t there ?

His game plan yesterday was a big thumbs up and his 2023 was draft to a draft Nick like was was likewise - loved it as much as hated 2022

My only significant issue yesterday other then Myers should have been in there instead of Ju Ju was that horrendous non FG kick to make it a one score game

Finally -
You are a trendsetter and I identified this early on I assume others see this as well

You hit it on the head. It's his arrogance and belief that there's simply no way he could ever be wrong. And let's be real here. The game is clearly passing him by at this point, like it does to all coaches. It's simply not the same league and the things he thinks are valuable from his long time in the league are no longer that important. For example, him spending freely on free agents that are only special teams players, while the league is literally mitigating that entire aspect out of the game more and more every season. How you go out and spend and sign players to run down a field on kickoffs when the league is making those plays rarer every day, and not spend on fixing your offensive line is criminally inept.

I think Bill a good game yesterday, I was under the impression the keys to the offense were taken from him and handed to Mac and Obrien as per kraft.

needs a QB who can throw more than 5 yards, heck even the Bucs are starting their post Brady era off better

Ha ha - he loves special teams and the Vikings & Buffalo special teams fiasco last year guaranteed he would scour the league for the best and beg Mathew Slater to stay

He’s arrogant as shit but thankfully he has Bill OBrien, Mayo, Brown etc on the staff

Also me and Lou were losing it in real time over his 22 draft and in 23 something happened he couldn’t have possibly made those picks by himself

He’s notorious for skipping recommendations (hello Debo Samuel & Dallas Godeart) because one of his friends (helo Herm Edwards and his WR N’Keil Harry) suggested one of THEIR players

This guy doesn’t even let his scouts in the draft room which is freaking outrageous

Why? Because he is drafting who he wants

Power corrupts thru history and why he told Seth Withersham he could take any top 15 QB and turn them into a star, why he hires Judge & Patricia with no experience as OC; why he doesn’t listen to scouts and drafts what he wants

When he was in his hey day he was surrounded by guys of strong personalities but as they leave and SB accumulated he thinks it’s more about him

I’m somewhat optimistic because he’s brought in push back guys and he’s on the hot seat

This schtick worked when they were regularly winning divisions, playing for championships, and winning Super Bowls.

Now? Put up or shut up.

even if Bill reinvents himself, all things Patriots are rearanging deck chairs in the titanic until they find a real QB who can go toe to toe with Burrow and Allen. I don't even think they can match up with mid QBs like Tuo currently

Mac did very well yesterday after looking a bit nervous I the 1st quarter. Over 300 yards. 3 TD's. One might say he even outplayed Hurts. It was a step in the right direction. And he can clearly throw over 5 yards. Gotta work on the positives here.

I tell you what. If Hopkins is catching the balls and not Boutte, those feet are down. Guaranteed.

I think Parker comes down with them too

That hit was brutal, Jakobi’s eyes were rolling back in his head

Boutte needs to learn the two feet needs to be in bounds asap. But man, it's frustrating. The absence of Parker hurt a lot. But I've said it all along. Not getting Hopkins was a mistake. However I do think this WR core will be better than people expect.

Mac looks better already. Yeah he was jumpy and nervous in the 1st. Be he settled down. I'm encouraged that this will definitely be a bounce back season.

This morning I'm still pissed about the lack of FG there. Why draft a kicker in the 4th if you don't plan on using him, Bill?!

Ugh
