Mistakes hurt them but there's a lot to be optimistic about. Defense was on point, offense showed a lot of life.

Give it a few games for them to get comfortable in the new scheme

If Bill kicked that f***ing FG we'd probably have won

I can't forget that Bill refused to kick FGs on 2 or 3 different occasions in that AFCCG in Denver when Manning was hanging by a thread and you knew they wouldn't score many more points.

He should have clearly kicked the FG there, even had they converted the 4th down it's still a few good plays away from a TD. It's just way too risky on a non elite offense.

Once they switched to uptempo and Mac woke up in the 2nd, they significantly outplayed the Eagles. But too many early mistakes and dumb decisions in the 4th to overcome.

If Booty can get his feet down on either of those catches, different result.

Bill deciding to not kick the FG pushed the betting line and gave the Eagles -3.5 the win too.

First of many moral victories this season. They might have more of them than actual wins.

Don't know why they didn't kick the field goal on 4th and 3 but this offense is the opposite of clutch. Two drives starting in the middle of the field on both of them and get nothing from it.

That one is a lot different than the first one imo
It only goes under the microscope because it was the second time he did it. If not for the first one which was far worse, I think we accept that he was being pushed out and you can't expect a rookie to get that down. Still a frustrating way to lose.

Regardless, they look like an NFL offense again.

Get Strange and Owenu back in, get Parker back and they have something there .

Defense is legit, and gave them a chance to steal a game.

I think the thing about clutch offenses is they're the ones that have elite talent at QB and/or WR/TE. This team has neither, which will always make scoring at the end of games difficult.

Hell baby
Thought they were the better team for the last 3.25 quarters, they just completely shit their pants and looked like a FCS team in the first quarter

Stevenson being 100% next week will also make them better. He gutted it out in the 2nd half but you could tell he didn’t have all of his pop.

Cam Newton sucked besides the first 2 games for the Patriots and was throwing to bums like Damiere Byrd but he still led them on 3 fourth quarter comebacks or game winning drives as the qb. We are in year 3 of Jones now and he's still only got 1 to an awful Houston Texans team.

There's more talent on the team now than the Cam year, Mac Jones is a better qb than Cam was when he was a Patriot but besides 1 game, every chance they get to win the game they can't pull it off. There's a clutch time problem with the offense. Two chances today starting in the middle of the field and they couldn't even get close to the end zone.

Another close loss for the team. It's a moral victory of sorts but they need to figure out how to win the close ones. Lots to like about this game and just one game in and this offense + Mac Jones looked better than last year.

You know what I'm taking the positive here. Eagles were in the Superbowl last year and are heavy favorites to come out of the NFC again. Mac & Bourne allow a pick 6 early, Zeke coughs up a fumble that leads to another Eagles TD. Once they settled in though they looked fine vs one of the better teams in the entire NFL.

Jones - 316 yards / 3 TD's
Bourne - 64 yards / 2 TD's

The defense looked good. Gonzalez looks like a stud and seemed to be heavily targeted by Philly.
