I could see Richardson or Stewart stepping in for King if he doesn't play great. I think Clifford-Fraser-Nolan is here to stay.

I really hope DL lands a vet Dman in a trade soon. Muzzin + Loktionov should get us someone decent right?

When Kopi gets back someone has to sit, it's Clifford or Nolan at this point

Despite the Kings play, I am still disgusted by NBC's lack of respect to Kings fans (and Hawks fans) by cutting off the game. Apparently, it was the network and not the affiliate. I almost got an immediate response from KHQ from Spokane, where I get NBC from, and they said they would've kept the game if they could but NBC forced them. So I found an email address for NBC, sent an email to them complaining about it, I CC'd it to Gary Bettman ([email protected]) and to the LA Kings. I told NBC this is disgusting that the network who received such bad PR flack for the Heidi game would do this. I don't expect a reply from any of the parties, but if enough people complain to the Kings and Bettman, they might force NBC to do something.

It was realy strange to cut off like that, some sort of mistake I would guess (NBC stream was working normally for the whole game)

Meh....

CHI scored 4 goals in transition and 1 goal on a 5-3. Fixing transition D is easier than fixing other types of breakdowns. Sutter will adjust. No worries.

I'm sure NBC thought the Pens/Flyers game would be better. The stream was bloody awful quality I couldn't make out much of anything. I should've turned on Nick and Daryl since I basically listened to it anyhow.

It was just one game. Should we judge so quick?

I'll Be honest I am not a fan of Gagne, he should have retired Two years ago.

I was hoping he would retire after the Cup win. I just don't feel he is a good Forward anymore.

I would much rather Clifford and Nolan stay in the lineup, Size and Speed.

Stream quality was pretty bad, it was switching up and down all the time without any controle

I don't know. When he skated out for the ceremony he barely put any weight down on his leg.

I thought he looked a little worried about lifting the Cup too. I think Drewiske skated over to take the Cup from him too. I'm hoping this is simply a case of the game losing some emotion due to the festivities.

I wonder if we will see Bernier next game? I realize the D hung Quick out to dry a few times too but still he certainly doesn't look invincible like he did in the playoffs. I certainly hope this afternoon wasn't a case of seeing what this team is like when Mitchell and Kopitar are out and Quick is having an off night.

Hawks played smarter and harder, but I thought the coverage by NBC was atrocious. I had a hard time even enjoying the game, minus the loss, because it was just brutal to listen to.

Not a chance unless Quick is in pain.

We won't see Johnny B till the back to backs start.

Wasn't Quick's fault today, but even so, Quick has earned the right to have a few bad games.

Well, that could've gone better.
The ceremony was really cool right up until the banner went up to the rafters. This is Hollywood, why was there no thematic music [like 2001 or Star Wars theme] as the banner went up? All they did was play the organ music. I know I'm nitpicking but I thought it was a lame way to end it.

As for the game, they looked like they needed a few preseason games to shake the rust off. Also might have helped with the new interference rules. What the hell is it now, 1 , 2, or a half second to tie a guy up before it gets called. The players looked pretty confused as what they can do now. I'm sure we'll see a better effort on Tuesday.

Why am I not surprised NBC cut away from our game. Stanley Cup champs or not, they've shown little or no support for the west coast and just couldn't wait to switch over to the philly-pitt game. I'm surprised they didn't do it earlier.

Can't say im surprised by the outcome. The first period was REALLY bad.

Amart and VV should not be paired together. Put DD and Amart together until Willies back. Scuds can play with VV. I actually liked how Drewiske played. Greene looked awful on the 3rd goal, but that's not normal for Greene. I'll chalk that up to it being the first game of the year.

Richards, Brown & Gagne were our worst line, by far.

I liked Penner games. I liked his compete level. Total 180 from the way he played last regular season.

Trevor Lewis was great. From the drop of the puck he was forechecking like always does, with tenacity.

Our 4th line was brilliant. I have a VERY good feeling about the Clifford/Nolan combo. They're both young, mobile, finish checks, intelligent and aren't foreign to the scoring areas. There's absolutely no reason this line won't be getting regular shifts all year long.

It's amazing how Mitchell's presence is missed on the back end. He is to our defense as Kopi is to our offense. I hope they come back soon.

It really is, Lewis has all the tools you want in a third line player.

Except he can't score, he is a black hole for offense.

The one exception being the playoff's, Somehow Lewis finds a scoring touch.

13 points in 26 GP in the playoff's

he's our Kirk Maltby. His price tag will never be high enough to have to let him go either.

One other note... Willie Mitchell is critical to this team's success, and if he's out for 2 months, the Kings will be scraping for playoff spot #8. They need Mitchell back in a hurry. More critical than Kopitar.

2 months ? is this official ?
