No. After that game? Those two showed up to play, unlike the other forwards.

Seriously, that was the most effective line today. They may have to look at their top nine forwards to determine who to remove. Hell, play with 5 defensemen and give double duty to Doughty. I'd rather do that than see Drewiske on the ice ever again.

King and Gagne were just terrible.

But we shall see, Kopitar will probably be back Tuesday.

Awesome pre-game ceremony.

Game was just BRUTAL. Worst I've seen the Kings play since the Minnesota game last year (or 2011? can't remember, but it was last season).

You know you played a brutal game when you lost to the other team 5-2 and that other team didn't play well either.

brutal game, can we get rid of early day games......

Ah, didn't see your post before I posted. That's the right word, and its the word that was uttered from my mouth when the final horn sounded.

But hey, I have great seats this year! :sarcasm:

People have to remember the Kings played ~7 hours before they usually play. That's a big adjustment for their bodies. Plus most of the time hasn't played hockey for months. They will find their groove vs Avs

I love to see Toffoli play with our top 6 with Gagne bought out

One other note... Willie Mitchell is critical to this team's success, and if he's out for 2 months, the Kings will be scraping for playoff spot #8. They need Mitchell back in a hurry. More critical than Kopitar.

YOU'RE WRONG.

Or at least I wish you were.

No need to buy him out, he'll be a UFA at the end of the season.

I just want him gone ASAP his resume is impressive but he's nothing like he used to be and it's time to take out the trash and give a kid like Toffoli who actually had a RECENT history of successful performance play. Gagne out Toffoli in. I see a lot of great potential for the kings with that.

I am not a fan as well(never wanted him on the team), You have to go back to 08-09 to find a season were Gagne was top Six productive, and Healthy.

He and Richards were just terrible today, Brown was ok. But that line just didn't have anything but turnovers and poor Defense.

With that said, I would rather Tofolli stay in Manchester, Kopi will push a forward to the pressbox, Gagne please. Keep Nolan and Clifford in the lineup.

Pretty simple math: Kings - Kopitar - Mitchell = loss.

I mean, really, if you were asked to pick two players to remove from the Kings lineup who's absence would have the most impact, would you pick anyone other than Kopi and Willie?

What a close for this Kings fan....was there when they won thr Cup, and there when they raised the banner today. Nice to see the Cup again. Don't want to see it again until it's given out to the 2013 champions, though.

Brown was playing his offwing so im not gonna look at it closely. With that said I want Toffoli in because I really dislike havinttop ahl player like Toffoli wasting away in the AHL when he can fill in for Gagne, I'm tired of only have grinders being called up for talent. So who ever gets the short stick is fine, pull a trade. If Gagne gets injured and we call up another grinder then that would be pathetic

Gagne's only played what.. 2 NHL games in the last year? Give him a break.

I will even give Gagne since Nov 3 last year....

30GP 4G 6A 10P -10.....Hell I'll add All of last year... I'll be fair.

39GP 7G 10A 17P -6..... Awful for someone with top six minutes.

Pretty awful.

He should have retired, Hope he proves me wrong.

Alright you can hold on to what he used to be, all I see from him is an average player with people hanging on to what he used to be. He's an injury prone and an average 2nd 3rd liner. I rather not waste time and pull the plug while we have a player like Toffoli who is currently successful instead of hoping for some injury prone play like what he used to be years ago. I guess you are more patient than me.

When I was excited about returning the same Lineup, I was hoping that would also mean Gagne was a fourth line player, or retired.

Toffoli is a right winger. It hurt us and him if we brought him up this early, put him on his off wing, and have him replace someone with Gagne's resume.

We don't need rush him!!

I agree with this, let the Kid develop the right way. The Kings are done screwing up talented kids.

Kopi simply pushes someone off the lineup, I would like that someone to be Gagne, Keep Nolan and Clifford in the lineup.

Sorry guys, I am not going to buy into all the "Gagne is washed up" talk, that is not opining from a position of strength.

Gagne had a fast start to last season, then slowed down a bit before his just-about-season-ending-injury.

You naysayers are going to eat your word on Gagne. He will make an impact this season.

Which Gagne we talking about ? the current one or the Gagne of Six years ago ?

Six years ago, I would agree with you.

Who says he will play his offwing brown plays his favorite position at left wing Kopi center and Toffoli at right. No one plays off wing. Rush him? He's already doing very well in the AHL I don't think he has anything else to prove, just cause he's young doesn't mean he will fail or mean he won't flourish in the NHL on our top line

TT is a RW and the times that he plays off wing he looks out of place.

Behind Gagne Penner King Clifford and DB playing LW as his off wing we have Pearson Kitsyn (not until next season at the earliest) and Andy Andy who more than likely would play on the bottom 6 causing King Cliffy etc to move up.

After this season when Penner and Gagne become UFA's (if we don't try to keep Penner) we will have to address our second line LW situation one way or the other. Or I suppose sooner depending on how things go.

TT will give us a ton of flexibility for how we handle our top 6, just not by playing LW.

Where Gagne is concerned I am all for giving him as many as 20 games to get his head back to being NHL ready. The guy has been out for a season and is coming off of a major injury at that. Give the guy time to get himself back into the NHL game. My only concern is that with the shortened season we may not have the time he needs to get him back up to speed.

I think he still has game. Here's to hoping he can get it together asap so we don't have to be concerned.
