It's more like, I'm not getting my hopes up until I see him skating.

How long have you been around? You remember the names of Adam Deadmarsh and Jason Allison and how "they'll be ready by November" then it changed to "they'll be ready by Christmas" and so on and so forth.

Oh they will be back. This is the year . I can feel it

Good to hear the kid has been doing recovery work in Ottawa this summer. That’s progress from living in his parents basement in Kingston.

2020 is a realistic target for return if things keep progressing at this rate.

My cynicism is and always has been with the Kings doctors. I believe in science and doctors. I don't believe in people who say they have a "bad"anything. In my life time those people were just scared of having surgery, which oddly is a very real thing. I'm 46 with stage 4 brain cancer. One day I started not feeling well. A few weeks later I was in the ER having my skull cracked open and operated on. I did not have a "bad" brain. I had symptoms, the doctors gave me a CT scan and an MRI to see what was wrong and operated to fix it. That's the reality of modern medicine. Very rarely do you hear of people who go into a doctor and nobody can figure out what's wrong. Does it happen? I'm sure it does. Does it happen in pro sports where athletes are worth millions of dollars? Not to my knowledge. Just one guy.

“We think he’s going to make a full recovery.”

To that end, Vilardi has been spending the bulk of the summer in Ottawa, working with experts, and there has been an improvement in his condition, according to Scott.
Finally, the recovery of Kings prospect Gabe Vilardi has...
