The only "reason" is that his shoulder still isn't 100%, and that could quite possibly be the case.

Other than that, there is no other excuse.

Exactly. It's just him playing poor if he's not at 100%. And if he's not at 100%, then that's another reason to cut bait (because it just means that he's still not healed after an entire offseason!).

Sather knew he blew it when he didnt add to the team in the off season after acquring Nash so he had no depth. now he does have depth, at the expense of a goal scorer (having a bad year).. It's like Rick nash has taken the place of Gaborik.. Its rick Nash + 24 or whatever

How many contracts do we have? 52?

Edit: didn't see the throw-ins up until now...

Before you post again, I would like you to answer the post I made to you a bit ago.

I'm so pissed. SO PISSED. Can't score? Trade your 40 goal scorer! To a team that will be in our own division next year! AWESOME!

What ever happened to the two year window with Nash AND GABORIK???!!!!

I love Gabby. First Dubinsky and Anisimov and now Gaborik? My heart can't take it.

our 40g scorer isnt even scoring so... wish we got Dubi back would have been happy with dubi+moore or dubi+ 1st but you guys want this guy gone and we're thinking we're getting kesler, Yandle, Horquist, Wilson Blum and 1st.. come on this guy hasn't been playing all year.. i bet he forced slats hand to trade him and he fielded calls and this was the best trade scenario.. i bet the 29 other gms wanted this guy, but the returns sucked.. but looking at this on paper and we basically traded 3 players+1st for players for 4 players back.. unbelievable.. gabs wasnt our core, wasn't happy obviously being here so **** it.. dont let the door hit ya on the way out..

we got to stop making all these changes tho.. we're never going to be successful turning over half our roster every ****en year..

Name me more than 3-4 third line centers in the league who consistently put up 40-45 pts.

Why are you quoting me here? I'm talking about upside. His upside isn't a 3C, his supposed "upside" is a 2C. Which he is not.

He will make a pretty good 3C, most likely. That's it.

Thank you for all the good wishes in our thread!

You will love Dorsett. He's a great teammate and can put the puck in the net. Brassard has elite vision but his production was never able to match it. Haven't seen much of Moore but I know he is highly regarded by many CBJ fans.

I think this trades makes both teams better :handclap:

Easily? That's some crystal-balling if you ask me. What if Clowe doesn't score 20+ goals ever again? What if Brassard remains a 40-45 point center?

Addition is hard. Using their career #s and playing it conservative:

Clowe (Avg'd 20.5 g/82): Assume 15.
Brassard (Avg is 17.5 g/82): Assume 15.
Dorsett (Avg is 9 g/82): I'm assuming 10.

The only one I'm being optimistic on is Dorsett; but by comparison I'm pretty significantly low-balling the other two so in my mind it evens out. This really isn't that much of a reach.

Yes, I just don't agree with the return.

It could be worse yes, but I think he could have also done better.

I think it is on par with what a player like him will return. He is a 1 dimensional player with a 7.5 million dollar price-tag.

The great thing about this as well is that they didn't take back a big money contract. Cap space is an asset as well.

Notice the word assume you used 3 times. You can keep assuming, and I'll wait until next year before eating my crow thank you very much.

 Love Wilder. Great clip.

One legit constant? Girardi, Staal, MDZ, Stepan, Callahan are the core guys who have stayed here. McD, Hagelin, Nash are the newer additions.

Losing Lisin, Gomez, Drury and Naslund were addition by subtraction IMO not to mention those moves happened years ago. AA and Dubi were traded for the guy who's been carrying the offense all year.

If losing deadweight and players with crippling contracts is instituting a revolving door policy, I'm all for that policy.

Also, I'd bet anything that if the team missing the playoffs this year and starts flat next year, Torts will not keep his job. I think that's a rational way to deal with the coaching situation also.

Only one player has remained with this team since the lockout resumed and that's Lundqvist. We didn't pony up to Jagr because we had over $22 million tied up to Drury, Gomez, and Lundy. We let our true legitimate puck carrier and goal scorer walk and what we were left with was..blegh.

I wouldn't be surprised if we let Girardi walk and Staal ends up going to Carolina, unless he really, really loves NY.

No, the rational thing to do is scrutinize the coach and look what he's done with this team since coming here. That ECF last year, that was the anomaly. We've been a playoff bubble team since he's taken over the reigns..and that's where we are right now! It only gets worse when you realize the main headed Hydra is still in his office drowning in his scotch and sucking on his cigars.

Again, the best part about this season? We don't qualify into the playoffs and we help another team build up it's own arsenal.

Very good news
