Pratt's system seems to work when we have enough horses like LoC, Lehky and Nuke PKing.

But I agree with everything else. I'm also gonna bitch about how Bednar has run his practices this year. Not working on the PP when it's struggling is something he never did in the past. Unless everyone has a secret injury, there's no reason to be taking so many days off. He complains about guys not having their legs, but it's definitely not from overuse, unless it's the top line and Makar.
Bold of you to assume that Pratt has a system

MacKinnon, Makar, Rantanen, Lehkonen, Drouin, Toews, Necas, Middelstadt, Colton.... but can't win without a drug addicted Russian winger.
Sad fact but a fact. Nuke does so much for those other guys especially Mackinnon for whatever reason. I just love how Jared lied to us saying it was nothin major and now Nukes been out for a month.

Honestly I’m almost at the point where the Avs should just play a 1-3-1 or a 1-2-2 system and force them to play d and convert on mistakes.

He wont say shit around Mackinnon. He aint going to out alpha Landy. Miller 2C needs to happen.

No it doesn't, and someone like that thinks enough of himself he's still going to pop off and piss people off.

I've been around assholes like that when they are out ranked. They don't care.

I want absolutely nothing to do with that dude based on what I know right now. He's a poison pill just like 4Giev.

Dude, you have two teams who moved off of him because of issues. Read the tea leaves.

He wants out of that place. He has no motivation. You put him into the 2C role here with Mackinnon leading the charge hes going to be motivated. This team needs more assholes not soft ass f***s like Malinski and Mitteljost

You can blame all the individual players you lot want with Mitts, Manson, Girard, Blackwood, Georgiev, etc.

The problem is that you ain't going far in the playoffs, let alone winning a Cup with an overall team defence this atrocious. The amount of attention to detail in the defensive zone has simply gone out the window and as @SoundwaveIsCharisma mentioned, the amount of high-risk, low-reward plays everyone is doing is causing havoc in terms of keeping the puck in our zone or causing unnecessary turnovers.

Avs also struggles mightily when a team establishes a cycle game. One of those Islander goals today was from a ten-second cycle that got Avs players running around and an easy tap-in from the back of the net. It could be a systems issue, a personnel issue, or a combination of both. The lack of attention to detail is definitely a coaching staff problem, but getting wrecked by the cycle game is a personnel issue when Malinski, Girard, Manson, and insert #6 here get running around due to lack of size and IQ. What has made matters worse is that Makar has regressed big time defensively this season. Not sure if the analytics back that up, but through the eye test he has been a mess as I posted earlier today. Toews has been worse from 2022 as well, but his play defensively has been very much acceptable compared to everyone else.
I don't think Makar has really regressed defensively. I think his problem might be workload. Almost every time he's on when they score, he's been trapped out there for a long while. Bednar's usage of him, might need to be adjusted. He's only 25, so I think he can play these high minutes, but he needs to cut his shift times down. A reliable bottom pairing would help with this as well.

My main problem with Manson and G is how the guy chasing is always Manson. G is weak in front of the net. Everyone knows this. Manson is the one that needs to be parked there, but it always ends up being G. I don't know if this is a Manson issue, or if teams are forcing this, but they need to figure out how to switch on the fly.

Miller is truly the worst bitch of all bitches. It's like a Karen in godzila form. f*** that dude. He'll never win anything.

100% I'd rather have the softer skilled dude who is quiet and does his job at both ends mind you, even if he's a little mentally vulnerable.

He doesn't need to be the toughest guy, but bring the scalpel at the right time. The other shit can be taken care of.

A loud mouth hypocrite is death. I'd want to stab JTM in the throat if I was in his locker room in any capacity.

I'm not thankfully, because I'd probably f*** him up just for fun to shut him the f*** up.

i honestly loved the 3rd line of colton - drury - wood, just need to build off it and drury looking like a great add.

Necas is insane. such a good fit for this team he looks like mack out there at times

Mitts had a good last 5 games so ill cut him slack for this one if he can follow it up with another 5 solid games.

G, CDH, & Malinski....yikes

Thats the problem with so much turnover this year and last. None of these guys fought together enough in playoff series. So many new faces, so little left from the 2022 team. The locker room chemistry has to be off with so much change this year.
Is there so much more turnover than any contender? I don't think so.

Lol what's in the glass tonight bruh ?

Sorry to everyone really. My soldier side really came out. I can be harsh, and a complete asshole.

Some subjects just strike deep.

I prefer the port finished bourbon.

It's cheaper, and it's really good. So I can't fault you. I just love the spice in the Rye.

Necas is as advertised. I like his play. Losing Moose still hurts though.

Not sure where our cup window is at right now, but if 22 is all we get out the core we had, that’s going to be kind of disappointing. I’d imagine CMac will make some more moves before deadline.

Positives to take from tonight:

- Avs outplayed the Islanders for the most part
- MacKinnon and Necas seem to have instant chemistry
- Wood-Drury-Colton rebounded nicely after a horrific game against NYR and was great tonight. Drury another goal, I like him a ton already
- Lehkonen another goal

Negatives...

- Another 24+ minutes for MacKinnon and Necas after Bednar seemed to insinuate that wouldn't happen much anymore.
- Jonathan Drouin doesn't look good lately, and I have a feeling this is the Drouin we're going to get the rest of the way because of his injury that won't heal
- Avs lost the trenches battle both offensively and defensively. Way too easy for NYI
- Neither MacKinnon nor Necas seem willing to shoot when they have the shot to take
- Samuel Girard showed why come playoff time he's likely got to be the #5. He can't battle in front or in the corners.
- Casey Mittelstadt was yet again a bum, as he had the worst Corsi on the team and was on the ice for 0 high danger chances for but 2 high danger chances against. He had 1 shot, 0 rebounds created, 0 rush chances, 0 hits, 1 hit taken. Another nothingburger of a game.
