I don't want Hartman there anymore than I want Rossi there from tonight's game.
Saw that. Have to wonder, in a different reality where he didn’t get traded, would he have been injured? The funny thing is Talbot is injured anyway.
Honestly, I don't think it would have mattered. He sucked a lot last year too.Saw that. Have to wonder, in a different reality where he didn’t get traded, would he have been injured?
We went from Kahkonen/Talbot to Gustavsson/Fleury. And Kahkonen had a terrible game and still has a better sv% then FleuryThe funny thing is Talbot is injured anyway.
Talbot wasn't great last year either. How quickly people forget.Home opener and they lose 7-3 or whatever, what an embarrassment.
And what was Guerin thinking, chased Talbot out of here to sign a guy who's burned out.

I'm no Fleury fan but it's a lateral move at worst.Home opener and they lose 7-3 or whatever, what an embarrassment.

Might have been the worst game I’ve seen him play… ever? I’m not worried, he’ll bounce back.Brodin is dog water.
I think there is validity that they need a different goalie than MAF. Talbot is whatever.Talbot wasn't great last year either. How quickly people forget.
Well you can't put Ek there, Steel hasn't been any better than Rossi (I'm not even sure Steel and Gaudreau are in the lineup tonight), and Boldy is a winger, so what's your plan?
Rossi isn't a grinder, maybe trying to force him into that role is why he's not doing much tonight?
Perhaps if Talbot didn't have a temper tantrum, we'd have both guys. Then again, that would be an expensive mess.
I'd start Gustavsson next game.Gotta see some changes next game.
The defense has to get better, not sure what to do about it, cause it was bad from top to bottom, but it needs to improve.
Boldy and Kaprizov were the only forwards who showed up tonight, and Kaprizov kinda trailed off a bit towards the end. Hartman was atrocious, Steel and Gaudreau were invisible, and outside of his goal, Zuccarello wasn't anything to write about. Need more from the top six players than what they brought tonight.
Fleury is what he is, not expecting anything different in net.
Winning board battles are something every hockey has to do every game. If he can't do that against 4th liners how is he going to fair against quality players?
Rossi is also the slowest skater on his line. He's not the one forechecking behind the net. He's been losing the puck along side the boards.
I could care less he scored 85 bazillion points in the preseason. His game isn't NHL quality, let alone top line quality.
Hardly a temper tantrum when he signs here to be the starter, Guurin trades for his old buddy at the deadline, Talbot continues to outplay Fleury, and still loses his starter job.
You can say Talbot is nothing special and should have played better, but he didn't play his way out of a job, he lost his job because his GM liked another guy more. Talbot had a pretty reasonable response, all things considered.
