I don't want Hartman there anymore than I want Rossi there from tonight's game.

Well you can't put Ek there, Steel hasn't been any better than Rossi (I'm not even sure Steel and Gaudreau are in the lineup tonight), and Boldy is a winger, so what's your plan?

Rossi isn't a grinder, maybe trying to force him into that role is why he's not doing much tonight?

Saw that. Have to wonder, in a different reality where he didn’t get traded, would he have been injured?
Honestly, I don't think it would have mattered. He sucked a lot last year too.

I'm a lot more concerned about the lack of defense. Brodin has been steady and reliable. Looked like crap tonight. Even the forwards. Nobody put in the effort to defend. How can they not be fired up for opening night?

Home opener and they lose 7-3 or whatever, what an embarrassment.

And what was Guerin thinking, chased Talbot out of here to sign a guy who's burned out.

Perhaps if Talbot didn't have a temper tantrum, we'd have both guys. Then again, that would be an expensive mess.

A whole bunch of those goals would be going in no matter who was in our net. The Rangers executed really well, our D lost the positioning battle all night and forwards got caught puck watching in our own end. Positives to take away for some of our guys, all will be going to bed very mad tonight.

Gotta see some changes next game.

The defense has to get better, not sure what to do about it, cause it was bad from top to bottom, but it needs to improve.

Boldy and Kaprizov were the only forwards who showed up tonight, and Kaprizov kinda trailed off a bit towards the end. Hartman was atrocious, Steel and Gaudreau were invisible, and outside of his goal, Zuccarello wasn't anything to write about. Need more from the top six players than what they brought tonight.

Fleury is what he is, not expecting anything different in net.

Winning board battles are something every hockey has to do every game. If he can't do that against 4th liners how is he going to fair against quality players?

Rossi is also the slowest skater on his line. He's not the one forechecking behind the net. He's been losing the puck along side the boards.

I could care less he scored 85 bazillion points in the preseason. His game isn't NHL quality, let alone top line quality.

Hardly a temper tantrum when he signs here to be the starter, Guurin trades for his old buddy at the deadline, Talbot continues to outplay Fleury, and still loses his starter job.

You can say Talbot is nothing special and should have played better, but he didn't play his way out of a job, he lost his job because his GM liked another guy more. Talbot had a pretty reasonable response, all things considered.

I'd start Gustavsson next game.

Because he's going to spend more time with the puck on his stick because his linemates play the same possession game he does. The number of board battles he has to win on the fourth line is a direct result of the fact that his linemates are only on the ice to dump and chase.

It's about putting your players in roles that suit them and will help them succeed. Right now, Dean is not doing that for Rossi.

And hey, you've agreed Hartman shouldn't be there, I'm open to other suggestions, but you completely glossed over that part.

Being upset with it is reasonable, but having your agent publicly call out the GM about it is entering temper tantrum territory.

That's something you'd expect out of MAF's agent.
