And BTW. they-still-suck

Their best scorer this season, David Levin is currently 54th place in the OHL scoring.

1. Levin 24 pts (54th)
2. Byfield 17 pts (102nd) - 2020 draft eligible
3. Hutchinson 16 pts (105th) - 2019 draft eligible

2nd fewest goals for, in the East, 3rd fewest in the league.
6th fewest goals against, in the league thou, so that's a +

If they keep winning, they are a play-offs team, its super close.
Luukkonen has kept them in the play-offs race in the entire season.

I mean, rather than stat watching I actually see games... They are very deep and have 4lines that can score. They play a great system game and no doubt UPL is the MVP so far but they've done a great job keeping shots outside and limiting second chance points.

Just cause there's no single player setting the league on fire doesn't mean they aren't a good hockey team.

You could give me some benefit of the doubt ( at some degree )

It is super easy assumption to make,.. number of goals scored, number of shots against per game
their roster, back up goalie stats, etc. etc. Yes, one shouldn't make assumptions as such, but it does happen, people do it,
but that doesn't make me (or anyone else for that matter) any lesser of a hard core sports guy.
- outside looking in, it doesn't look like a team that has been playing, or been good/great

Just wanted to say that :)

It's a fair assessment from the outside. But they are a heavy team with speed and tend to out battle the other team on most nights. They'll only get better at Q and Hutch progress as well. I'd suspect they make a deal soon

Luukkonen gets another W by facing almost 30 shots, Sudbury wins 5-1 at home over the Barrie Colts.
Luukkonen is 16-5-1-1 this season with 2.4 GAA and .924 SV%
Beast Mode.

I feel like the last time it was okay to feel really good about a Sabres goalie prospect was Ryan Miller. Even with Cal Petersen there was always the spectre of him fleeing to free agency, which obviously happened in the end.

35 saves faced tonight in a 6-3 away W over the Barrie Colts.
18 - 5 - 1 - 1 record | 2.5 GAA | .924 sv%

His 32 shots faced per game this season, is OHL's 2nd highest

Keyser - Oshawa 33 (.931) 16-5-1-0
Luukkonen - Sudbury 32 (.924) 18-5-1-1
Jones - Peterborough 31,5 (.922) 17-12-0-0

Saved a breakaway in the 3rd and OT, followed by the save on the penalty shot. Quite a game saver yesterday.

In the hype around how fantastic DiPietro was, the story of his performance is not really being told. Not only did he make those big saves, and make them look easy, he was cool and composed, didn't give up any big dangerous rebounds, and handled the puck superbly. Looks like a pro already.

As a Sabres fan I’m super excited at the potential this kids has. We won’t know for a few years but he’s 6’5 and showed tremendous poise helping lead Finland to a gold medal at the WJC.

One of the better Finnish goalie performances I've seen at the U20s, the Canada and now the USA games were amazing from him. Up there with Saros in 2014.

Didn't really inspire any confidence last year. This time around he was really calm in the net, you really felt like you could trust him.

Not what i expected, but really glad by the steps he has taken during 2018.

MVP of the champions.
