Ukko Pekka Luukkonen is another potential 1st/2nd round pick.

Korpisalo had a good last year but with the injury tough to say how he looks today.

I have high expectations for Saros and hope he gets NHL stars this year.

Kähkönen is also promising prospect.. Vehviläinen hasnt developed as he should be.

I really think that he is solidfying himself as the #1 goalie prospect outside of the NHL right now. Pronman had him at #3 before the season, but now that Vasilevskiy and Murray are getting more time and really aren't "prospects" anymore, Saros is the guy. He's been great in the AHL this year, and has been even better in the two NHL games this year. The only issue I see with him is his size. He looks like a child in net, but he has the athleticism to make up for it. Could see him having a really good peak, with a sharp decline once his athleticism drops after he turns 30

Love this guy already. He's fantastic.

2 GP 1.02 GAA .965 Sv% so far this season in the NHL

Is the size really a concern when he has played years against men and everywhere he has been he has put up elite numbers?

He seems like the future longterm #1 for Nashville, so so calm.

Sounds like what people say all the time about their prospects that dominated lower leagues only to come into the NHL and not cut it.

Size is obviously a concern. It will continue to be a concern until he proves he can hang.

I know size is always a concern, but Saros didn't go the junior route.

He has played in Liiga, AHL, Worlds, and now few games on the NHL and has put up elite numbers.
Haven't seen any signs from him yet to why he couldn't make it.

I just think that his positioning and reflexes must make up for the lack of size. He's small for a defenceman, and the league is moving towards larger and larger goalies. Once he loses a step, he might struggle. Rumors about the reduction of pad sizes won't help him either. I still think he'll have a great prime, just might also follow that up with a sharp decline.

Hellebuyck looked like a monster compared to him, and just fills up the net so much more. Hellebuyck will likely have an easier time once he ages, just because he fills up the net.

He's already proven that his size won't be an issue in each of the leagues he's played in, I'm sure if it were an issue he wouldn't be one of the best goalie prospects in the league.

I really hope they keep him up this season and platoon him with Rinne. I think it would be best for both goalies. Rinne's contract is up in 2 years, and they need to start easing Saros into the league. I think he's a bit too good for the AHL right now

Rinne's actually rebounded quite nicely this year, I think next year could be a split start. Wherever he's at he needs to be getting quality starts.

Bad game yesterday. Gave up two goals on the powerplay, but the first was a really bad break for him. Third goal I thought he definitely should've stopped. Still has a .940 sv% on the year.

*Nashville broadcast had a much better camera angle on the first goal. Simmonds deflected it, it was going to miss the net, then the puck hit the knob on the top of Saros' stick and went in :dunno:

If Saros were 6'4 205 lbs, he'd probably be considered in the Murray/Vasilevskiy tier of young goaltenders.

His mindset, quickness, reflexes, and technical approach to the game are all top notch for a 21 year old goaltender. I still keep rooting for him to succeed as the next great small goalie.

He's looked really good. I really didn't think he'd be this successful at the NHL level at his size. Good for him.

Just hoping that he will continue to get NHL games under his belt this season, has been amazing so far.

I think he is in that tier. I could make the argument that he's better than Hellebuyck, at the same age. Also, Pronman had Saros at third in his preseason rankings this season, under Murray and Vasilevsky. Most people don't know about him because he plays in the Nashville organization, and plays his AHL games in Milwaukee. If he came up through the CHL, and played for the Marlies, people wouldn't stop talking about him. Just look at how people seem to think that Antoine Bibeau is a good prospect...

Really a shame he didn't get the shutout last night with a late goal from NJ, because he really deserved it.

I've been a fan since we drafted him and since watching him put on that dominant WJC performance firsthand, but man alive, is he shredding the AHL and making a statement in his first batch of NHL games. He's so fast and so good positionally.
