That all makes sense and I agree, but I have heard and seen "he's easily replaced in FA" "plenty of guys like that at the deadline/FA every year" way more than just about Bahl. And it is always about an individual player, but it's been said a lot about a lot of them.
Who? McLeod is the only player we’ve lost over the last few years that I don’t see any clear replacement for. Maybe Tatar too?

I don't understand your question. I'm saying I've seen it about guys who, yea in theory are easily replaced. So not Mcleod. I'm talking about the ones, who by all accounts, yea? could be easily replaced, but have not been. Bahl, on an individual basis in a vacuum, I would not argue against someone saying he is easily replaced. But hearing it about so many players over the last couple years and having them seldomly replaced, it starts to lose it's meaning. So I'm just saying I understand where Jim is coming from when brushing off the "easily replaced" line.

Well I just don’t know who fits your definition? Sharangovich was replaced by a far better player. Graves, Severson -> Luke, Nemec. I don’t really know who else is in the conversation about being replaceable or not?

But you also know they reality is Bahl is not being replaced. A top 2 LHD that can kill penalties is what is needed....what Bahl couldn't provide as a 23 year old first full year NHLer is what needs to be replaced.

So saying "Bahl is easily replaced" is really nonsense.

I'll say it again for you

Bahl is easily replaced

what of it?

I'm not going to go down the list, because every name in theory isn't a world beater and can be picked a part as "that guy?!" like I'm making a big stink about said player. But my point is it has been said many times about a lot of players, most of which in a vacuum makes sense to say it. But saying it over and over with out doing it starts to add up.

And at the risk of starting a massive freak out, Sharangovich was not replaced by a far better player, and currently isn't replaced by anyone.

Holtz is worth nowhere close to a mid to late 1st, I cannot imagine the organization thinking this about him.
I could be well off in my assessment. I figured a 22yo who scored 16 while playing very low minutes would be valuable to teams who would take a chance on him

His all-around game does need work but he wouldn't be the first winger to take longer to get used to the NHL game; and his shot is quite the asset

Mr. Bad Fit who led our team in goals had a much larger role than Yegor in his final year. He was traded for a reason!

I guess another one is Wood -> Lazar? I’m really just not seeing the list of guys we lost and haven’t at least somewhat replaced.

I would also not even put Bahl in the easy to replace category, really. He’s a giant and is actually decent. But it would be funny if Fitz just immediately traded for a better giant in Nic Hague lol.

I wasn't really a fan of the Sharangovich trade at the time, but the net result is that we traded Sharangovich for a slightly lower 3rd round pick (from #80 in 2023 to #91 in 2024) and a 2025 2nd round pick. Even knowing what we know now, that's not terrible value at all...especially for being one of Fitz's "worse" trades. Keep in mind, this was a player that was a healthy scratch in the playoffs at the time (though I think we all knew he was better than that).

Fitz letting Rogalski come back yet again for a year 5 may just show he's taking responsibility for the goaltending results, but I don't know how much rope this guy is gonna get.

Goalie coaches have been fired after only 2 years for those types of results.

I don't see how Rogalski survives one more year of disastrous goalie play, though I didn't think he would have survived last year either.

We may be talking about Fitz not surviving it either if we miss the playoffs with inadequate goaltending again.
He's really putting his Devils GM position on the line there by letting Rogalski remain, especially if the Goaltending bombs again.

I guess he's banking on the hope that Markstrom ignores everything that comes out of Rogalski's stupid mouth and just does his thing in net....

Your list of hysterical grievances are definitely bolstered by your prosecution complex.

I had a longer response, but it’s not worth it.

I will point out, I do enjoy how you make false claims about board take on Palat’s contract to claim victory. (You didn’t like it? Wow, what a lone prophet. Please bitch about it more so we can drink in this unique wisdom.)

And how you also sound like your still disappointed about the Round 1 win in last years’ playoffs, which is predictable, because the only joy you know is dancing on the teams’ grave here when things go wrong.

And you complain about Crawford like anyone gives a f***.

I’m pretty neutral to this trade, not crazy about the short term aspect at this cost, but he was going to do something.

But I guess setting your hair on fire and screaming hysterically is another way to respond.

Male pattern arson baldness is no laughing matter.

Anywho, has anyone ever seen Dana Carvey and Jeff Marek in the same room?
