if again , i guess you mean for the first time since Dubie took over because last year we only played 6 other teams

tbh i feel bad for you for making up lies to try to prove , hell i have no idea what your trying to say anymore and haven't for a long time

What lies? It's been a super soft schedule according to you guys as long as I can remember.

Just be sure to let us know when it's not super soft anymore- in advance would be nice.

You might want to check how the Canadian division is doing this year compared to the other divisions, btw.

Dont look now but there is 3 Canadian teams in the leagues top 10 after being hailed the weakest division in the history of the sport!

Edit: Seems like we were on the same page:laugh:

Da Pacific is AHL hockey past few seasons .. really only da Peg is a top 10 team in league and they were before Cdn division ..nice try though

Da Pacific isnt exclusively playing teams from da Pacific division

Da Flames for example only played 2 games against teams from da pacific and 5 games against da Metro which is considered da strongest division.

Nice da try though

Last year there was only one. It's almost like players change year over year.

Yes we'll be one of the best teams in the league again this year.

Best as it Top 8 in the standings by points, or best as in Top 10 in expected goals and a few other "advanced" stats ?

The standings should line up fairly closely with the advanced stats in the end, as usual.

So both. Again.

They started the first 5 seconds of the game and didn’t let up. And all the big guns showed up and we got a shutout. Couldn’t beat Wilkes Barre but destroyed Henderson. Professional!

Don't put down the Leafs for doing what they are supposed to do.

THis is the NHL. Vegas had a goalie in net with 2 Jennings trophies and a defense consisting of Petro, McNabb, Hague, Martinez, Theodore, and Coghlan. Lots of vets up front.

Da Pacific is BY FAR worst division in hockey this year .. whoever wins it will lose to central EASY opponent .. da numbers will eventually all line up

Great, I'll mark you down for a Top 8 finish in the standings. I hope you are correct

The Leafs played OK but you can’t take anything out of that game based on VGK’s non-existent effort.
They have no excuses if they don’t play well against Tampa after an easy practice like they had tonight.
when the leafs win its the other team that doesnt come to play, but when they lose its because they badly and not that the other team played well - hockey fans brains game to game.

The pendulum swings closer to the middle...

Let's not forget the Leafs got absolutely smashed by the Penguins who were generally in the same straits as Vegas.

This might come as a surprise, but the Leafs are 5th overall in the league over the past 300 games (4+ seasons), 8th in the last 218 games (3+ seasons), 10th in the last 134 games (2+ seasons).

They have been a top 10 team in the standings by points for almost a half decade.

That argument works if they were exclusively playing intradivision games, but they are not. There is no argument against the Pacific being the easiest division, but Calgarys record is certainly not because they are in an easy division considering they played the majority of their games against the best division.

the lies are i'm hoping M and M have poor season , hell i've defended Marner constantly and said we'd be worse if we traded him

you can come here and spew your fairy tales how hard our division was last year if it makes you feel better but the season before we were barely in a playoff spot before being knocked out in the playoff qualifier and this season only a troll or an over the top homer wouldn't realize we've had a soft sked so far but hey you do you and post how hard our opponents have been so far

The leafs played well, and it was good to get the win, but like you, I see the game on Thursday as a marker on how good we are.
yup the next few games should be more telling , good thing is Mathews is should be back to himself after missing camp and a few games and Mitch scoring a couple of goals raised his confidence

Leafs have had a pretty easy go since the Columbus series.
Looking forward to seeing how they match up tomorrow.

They actually played the Bolts twice the last month of the season before the Columbus series and both teams had a ton to play for at the time. Toronto won both games despite injury issues.

Hopefully we can continue the winning streak against them.

The thing is if and when Leafs win, some will still point to Kuch is missing or Vas had a bad game.
I think the narrative of soft schedule or easy schedule is a weak argument in Hockey bc any goalies can have a great game or their worst game at any given time in the season.
On top of that, hockey is a streaky sports, some teams might be bad but their players might be all having a hot streak and it makes that team tough to beat.
Two points will always be two points, it doesnt matter if the team gets it in Oct or April, or against contenders or tankers.
