Leafs did REALLY well on this deal. Hallander PKs and likes to play in front of the net. Not huge in any sense (6’0-6’1, 190), but has jam, and scored 14pts in 27 games with Lulea.

the 15th OA gives us options. It’s clear we’re just starting the process of re-tooling, and opening up space. Pietro pitch incoming, boys and girls!

Yeah he seems like a useful player in #4 slot but doesn't produce the offense to play higher in the lineup. Rodrigues has a lot more offense if they plan to consider him there.

Yeah. I'm not sure where Rodrigues figures, but if you trade Kerfoot to Detroit that's not what I'm targeting.

The best part I like most about the Kapanen deal is that we can use the cap space to sign an UFA RHD.

The deleted tweet on getting Jack Johnson back really scared me.

I'd imagine a big discount in UFA this year too.

It is for the same reason that Kapanen's value is probably much higher than people expect, because real salary is more important than his cap.

you should never trade for 4th liners ...they are trade filler, not main pieces

I would say yes. Barabanov replacing Kapanen, and Robertson replacing Johnsson.

It could be Mikheyev too if they get a LW to put with Tavares in UFA (i.e. Vesey). Of course, who knows if Rodrigues fits in somewhere too, but I imagine he will be on the trade block for whatever we can get.
