everyone wants to see signings and stuff but I think the thing to keep in mind is that pretty much anything that happens this offseason in terms of signing is pretty damn unlikely to be something that is an integral part of the team down the road. At best any UFA signings are about filling some holes very short term.
Maybe some trades go down but those happen or don't happen on a timeline that doesn't necessarily depend on the UFA market as much as people want it to

Then you're in a small minority. He hasn't been perfect, but who is?
You're right, no one is perfect. I just want to see them be more calculated with their asset management, be it picks or depth signings. I don't hate Bieto, Rooney or Blackwell deals but then you straight up ruin it with the Johnson addition. Evey offseason seemingly there's a good, a not bad, and a wtf were you thinking. Nobody is perfect, look at the dead cap and their mistakes are all over it.

What dead cap space will there be with a 1 year 1m deal? And the other guys are whale signings or for exposing in the expansion draft. The real moves are coming down the road. Don't get me wrong, I'm not a fan of JJ. But it's really almost irrelevant in the scheme of things.

This is not as silly as it sounds. Many people have a bright shiny picture of Las Vegas in their mind. It’s really a nice southwest city that happens to have an incredible entertainment district. People want to see what their everyday life will be like.
I dont think it sounds silly at all. I just wonder how LeBrun got that info.

So he did us a favor by signing here, knowing he'd be going to a non-Cup contender?

He did himself a favor by getting a contract. None of us know what options he had. If you were Jack Johnson wouldn’t you go somewhere where you know and trust management and know and trust the coach?

I'd go where the money is and so far, the Rangers paid Johnson more than guys like TVR and Bogosian got.

Wow, ok, quite upset we passed on Stanley Cup Champion Zach Bogosian because we still have Tony D around. Maybe that QO is taking up too much space

Everyone wants to freak out about JJ and bitch that Gorton sucks but he actually made a very underrated move by bringing in kinkaid. Expansion draft eligible, cheap and can fill in as a backup if there’s an injury in a likely short season.
