Matheson got just under $5M for 8. Slavin got $5.3M for 7. Skjei is better than Matheson. Equal to Slavin. Parayko got $5.5M for 5. Jones got $5.6M for 6. Steal for Columbus. Matheson and Slavin are good comparables.

Skjei is equal to Slavin? I think thats too optimistic of a viewpoint.

Better than Matheson? Maybe so, but Slavin is really good.

I think that Lindgren also belongs in your discussion as a possibility to either make the team (blow people away in camp) or come up later. Looking at it realistically, I think that your first 6 defensemen listed are (barring injury or outright awful play in camp) will probably be the starters on opening night.

Truth. Also forget Hajek

The one thing I will never understand is the sentiment shared by a lot of people here to keep clamoring for youth but then when a young players starts to develop - but hasn't rocketed to stardom - it's off with his head. Hayes is the latest example. Power forwards take longer to develop. Last season I thought Hayes really showed the fulfillment of some of his promise. He's a big, physical center teams typically want. I could see him continuing to develop as Braden Schenn has.

No clue who this is but he looks dirty

He's an interesting character. When sports talk radio began in New York City, he was a habitual caller to every show on WFAN, the local channel. He called so often that he became a known quantity to all of the hosts and station management. Eventually, he got an audition, and became a host on the station. He's kind of a tough listen; strident and reactionary. His one saving grace is that he is a die-hard Rangers fan.

Who leads the rangers in points next year and how many? I say zibanejad with 61 pts.
I dont know about leading the team in points but with a regular shift and some power play minutes I can see O'Gara with 5 or 6 points.
Which, to be fair, would be 5 or 6 more than I'll ever score.

You think Ryan Graves is better than Brady Skjei. Just stop.

Your arrogance is amazing. If someone disagrees with you, you attack. Other viewpoints aren't allowed. You know better than everyone, even though multiple people questioned what you said.

And besides, you continue to totally misrepresent what I said at the time. So please speak for yourself, and stop misrepresenting things I've said.

IMO Slavin is better than Skjei. Skjei is better than Matheson.

The difference between Slavin and Skjei isn't big. Skjei had a sophomore slump and people have soured on him a touch.

If you swing Namestnikov into the middle and Chytil is the other top nine center (Mika is a given) who takes the tough matchups?

Im not sure i care, really. Zibanejad and Namestnikov can both do it without being abused, but its less about that than the potential of a return on a Hayes deal netting an important piece for the next window. He isnt critical to sheltering a rookie.

Let me put it this way: Hayes being there for the tough matchups means we finish 22nd instead of 25th. Im not going to let that stop me from trading him, if Im Gorton.

All with the ever present caveat of the deal having to be right.

No offense but pot meet kettle.
