Not me, I was souring on him HARD in 2013. Him playing the entire season with a shoulder injuy pissed me off, then I just realized: “wait, callahan is a whiny, divey shithead, and also intensely overrated”

I'm not about getting even for bad trades in the past but if we take back Callahan it better be for 2 unprotected 1st round picks. Not counting this year's conditional 2nd.

Yzerman isn't just picking up players like they're hockey cards. He's building a cup winner. Callahan and Johnson are playoff guys. He is keeping them to win a cup. It will be futures and guys that aren't cutting it come May and June. Strahlman and Killorn are expendable. Gourds, Point, Sergrachev aren't just really good, they're cheap. He has to keep them.

Heiskenen equals Cal Foote, the reported target in Dallas. They need players to eat up some cap. Killorn. Maybe we send Smith to Ottawa. The 2020 1st from Tampa. That's basically Ottawa's return. I couldn't tell you what we get besides Strahlman. Not even sure we get Ryan.

Big difference between the reward for Cally's contract (2 years) and Ryan's (eternity). No way we get like Foote just for helping them with the money.

We can also put a Spooner or a Vesey into "the pot" for the other two teams. Spooner could be great in Tampa, but they have a conveyor belt of interchangeable Anthony Cirellis who basically do the same thing while being 20 years old. Who knows.

Done helping TB. We got bullied in the MSL trade. Arguments can be made about the Mac/Miller last minute deadline deal. EK makes them the East favorite. We need to win the deal

We discussed this scenario last week with TB and Tavares. Callahan is out for 5 months with shoulder surgery. He will be back in November. The Rangers take him and maybe they can flip him at the deadline. Eat 50% of the remaining contract.

The Rangers need the 2019 pick to be a 1st from a conditional 1st and they also need another pick to satisfy the McDonagh deal. They are getting a 2nd no matter what.
