Speculation: Free Agent Frenzy Part II - Who is left?

My gut feeling is that he wants to go to free agency and this all part of the dance. Color me skeptical.

I think it depends on where he goes.

If he ends up on the Island, I don't see him signing there. If he ends up with the Rangers or in Vegas/Nashville/San Jose/etc., I think he signs.

If teams have been granted permission to speak about an extension, that means that that he's willing to sign.

As we’ve mentioned over past few days, VGK, NYR and at least one more team has expressed interest in acquiring both Karlsson/Ryan. There are 6-7 other teams after just Karlsson. Told NYI is among them.

They're going to get a pretty nice haul regardless of who gets him. It may not be an equal haul, but they'll get someone that a team doesn't want to give up.

I think they wouldn't trade one of our top 4 prospects, I think we could put Buch in place of these prospects.

I said it yesterday, but that whole conference that Dorion held to talk about offering Karlsson a contract was a f***ing sham. As if they didn't mistreat him poorly enough since January, they're setting him up to be the villain because he's not going to accept Melnyk/Dorion's lowball offer to stay in Ottawa.

It's a f***ing bush league move and an absolute disgrace to the league that a team's management would act this way. Fold Ottawa and move them elsewhere. That whole situation has been such a gong show.

For anyone against getting Karlsson, you don't need a stacked roster to go on a playoff run in this league. Look at Vegas and the Senators of two years ago, that Sens team was barely better on paper than the Rangers know. Hank deserves one more shot at a cup.

Ottawa has little if any leverage. They will get less value than ROR got and he had 5 years left. AND they're dumping Ryan's salary.

That guy is the same guy who was criticizing people for wanting to sell at the deadline. I remember him complaining after the Rangers had a listless performance in Ottawa on a Saturday afternoon. The Rangers are only 5 points out of the playoffs and they should buy. This will get me in trouble but 6/7 out of every 10 people are clueless. It's the truth. They want the Rangers to trade for Karlsson/or and pay him until he is 37 years old.

Do you realize that Gorton signed 29 year old Chara during the rebuild phase in Boston?
