Very good deal for Tampa. He would have gotten A LOT more had he gone to UFA.
Grats to McD and Tampa.
Grats to McD and Tampa.
He would have in NYC.I was told McDonagh was getting 40 billion a year.
Jesus christ glad we dodged that bullet.
True true.6.75 in FL is 8 elsewhere
That's a tremendous deal for Tampa Bay, considering what other players are getting.
I would've gladly given him that. I thought he would get 8.5 per.
Lot less than the 8+ plus some were predicting around here though.
They’re drunk every 1st of July.GM's are drunk today.
If we're lucky some NHL team signs him for 3x3 and take him off our hands.Hey Komarov is still out there!!!
Anything the league can do to punish the big market teams is a good thing apparently. Stupid.I don't know how the owners in high tax cities allowed these rules to be established. I suppose it's because all of the low tax areas are the non traditional hockey markets that the cap is supposed to be propping up. Imagine if the situation were reversed though.
Problem with this is the 2nd round pick is in the 2019 draft. McDonagh might not have re-signed until after that.McD resigning in TB should have been the condition to turns that 2019 second round pick into a first round pick--not accomplishing the hardest feat to do in sports.
We/Gorton got bent over in that deal, ugh.
