Last summer was such a disaster for the Oilers. Holloway and Broberg are what they're missing and that's been talked about. But also Warren Foegele (Size and Speed) and Ryan McLeod (soft but cray-z speed) are both outplaying everyone in Edmonton's bottom six. What a huge downgrade.

Blake won't sell but Edmonton should be after Foegele and Gavrikov. Would be the perfect fits for Edmonton.

You have a team in playoff position. That's not a Rob Blake quirk, NO GM WOULD SELL IN THAT POSITION.

And the worst part is that the team could've kept them all, though I still would've parted with Ryan McLeod and made a move for Matthew Roy and Kevin Lankinen.

If you've watched a Kings game than you'd know that the Kings are a bubble team in a overall weak pacific division and are fading fast. The Kings might grind their way into the playoffs but will be too overworked and tired to do anything and will be bounced once again in the first round.

Their good goaltending they got at the start of the year is coming back down to earth. Their defensive structure is breaking down and they are giving up tons of goals. Their offense can't find the net on the regular and their special teams are awful.

This organization needs to get rid of the management team and coaches to do a proper rebuild and not a junky retool like they just did.

So Foegele and Gavrikov need to be sold at their highest value which is right now. If Edmonton needs them so be it.

Forgive me (you may be right) but Kings fans say this shit every year, and they're usually still one of the hardest matchups for the Oilers.

As a non-Kings fan, I absolutely see why Kings fans are saying this. Their defense is slow and they allow other teams to get to the net too much. Maybe they'll look better when the playoff rulebook comes out, but I'm not seeing it.

oh yeah... you want a D to play both sides. Its not St-Valentine day dude!
yeah,
OP has right to set parameters of a thread
that said
cap is tight and the ask is a unicorn F w/size and speed
and a doubly versatile D who can do either side

and due to cap, both have to be cheap!

So when smaller names are offered to be stopgaps requested, why is lack of appreciation?

And when larger names commanding more-> likely not a fit as to cap -> are mentioned, there is again lack of appreciation

As others posted, Matheson and Anderson probably would fit the bill. However, im not so sure that the Habs are going to be sellers. I was much surer they would be a few months ago, but they are in the thick of the race now.

Also, not quite sure what the injury is, but there is definitely something bothering Anderson, though he is playing through it.

To Land Anderson and Matheson
The Oilers don't have :
1 : Cap space
2 : Assets to make that trade without hurting their actual core witch doesn't make sense. (Bouchard)
