Other teams have it too though. It's just a good market that players want to be in. Panthers have the same advantage and never match the Lightning.Tampas no income tax advantage hurts the league

McD resigning in TB should have been the condition to turns that 2019 second round pick into a first round pick--not accomplishing the hardest feat to do in sports.
We/Gorton got bent over in that deal, ugh.
Problem with this is the 2nd round pick is in the 2019 draft. McDonagh might not have re-signed until after that.
There must be some excuseI can't believe fellow Rangers fans are complaining about other teams (Tampa) having an advantage in UFA...
We literally get pretty much every single UFA we want- for better or worse. That includes highly prized college UFAs.
Don't throw stones.
Jesus christ glad we dodged that bullet.
No it doesn't. It is a fair advantage. Same way players love playing in NYC as opposed to Winnipeg. It is a fair advantage we have.Tampas no income tax advantage hurts the league
Completely with you on that one.
John Moore is pretty much the only UFA I have interest in right now.
But with our luck we'll give Lehner a silly deal.
I’m more concerned with the term. Lotta miles on McD. And injuries. I think the cap hit is suitable though. No thanks to McD @ 7.7 per.
Chicago gave Cam Ward $3m and a NTC for one year. Why are you giving a backup goalie 3m when you’re cap strapped??
Let these teams burn themselves. Sit back and wait.

McDonagh supposedly has a full NMC for the entire deal too. Gross.
