Why did they trade ROR anyway? Is Mittlestadt going to be the 2nd line C?

And holy shit is Buffalo going to have to replace a lot of faceoff ability. ROR took the most faceoffs in the NHL last year (2124) and won 60% of them!

EDIT: Just checked faceoff stats, Sobotka and Berglund can both take draws. That will help.

Same reason were going to trade Hayes away. So Chytil can be our 2C. Mittelstadt is there guy for that spot.

that would be equivalent to say if you had $10,000 in your bank account and just felt like giving someone $75
I guess you could say it's saw amount of his money but still, that's like 1/10 of what they spend on player salaries. For that business, that's a lot of money and you have to look at the business side's balance sheet and not the owner's pockets otherwise you and just running your team into the red. Detach where the money is coming from. That is not an amount for the organization to just sneeze about.
 
NHL player Paul Carey won't be returning to the Rangers next season. Signed with OTT.

Carey, infamously played 60 NHL games for the Original 6 franchise in 2017-2018. The organization would not comment on Carey's departure, but instead held a moment of silence to commemorate the loss of Carey.

More or less that what he said came out wrong. That he didn't mean to run down the organization. That what he said about Pittsburgh being a winning organization was just that they'd won a couple Stanley Cups recently. That he met his wife in Columbus and plans to live there after he retires.
 
You guys wanna trade Hayes? For what? I'm not even a big of a fan of ROR as most on here are but he basically brought back a first and Tage Thompson and that first may be in the 20's

I read on another board that Ottawa's initial release/tweet about the Carey signing listed him as a defenseman lol but was deleted.

I didn't mind Carey to be honest. He played okay for the role he was in.

Not if it’s a stud prospect ready to play. Needs to have good people around him. Oilers don’t have that.

I’m sure buffalo is hoping they do. But haven’t shown it yet.

Will Chytil have good people around him? I think so. I think zuccarello is staying till the deadline
 
Wow pretty happy we didn't do anything today. The Islanders are just driving that franchise into the ground today

But how does that mean I'd trade McDonagh + Miller for ROR

ROR with 5 more years vs McDonagh with 1.5 and Miller as an RFA at the end of the year

Not to mention ROR is probably the best player of the 3

In a vacuum for trade value it is equal in my opinion

...but that does not mean I'd do it for the Rangers organization because we are after different things

Sort of OT but I thought you only take the lump sum payment if you are confident you can outperform the % associated to the future payments lol
