In what universe are Chytil and Kravstov not considered potential high end talent?

Yeah its one thing if you're talking about sure shot first line/top pairing talent. I don't think many people have that to begin with.

Those guys with out a doubt have the potential to be that though. After they suffer through another season they'll have a great shot at adding another.

Very happy the club haven't overpaid for any of the big UFA's so far.

One name I fear. James Neal. Don't do it Gorts. Step away from the checkbook and remind yourself of the rebuild. Less will be more here.

Very few prospects are of that McDavid/Dahlin caliber where you just KNOW they will be great. Bitching because we don't have that is just bitching for the sake of it. The Rangers prospect pool not only has depth, but it certainly has some high-end players potentially long-term.

Neal would honestly be fine if the term wasn't more than 3 years or so.

Lmaooo.

Thats so silly. BUT WAIT THERES MORE!

Their 3rd line is going to be centered by back to back 30 goal season scoring Nazem Kadri!

If they get a legitimate #1 D they're the beasts of the East.

Those aren't exactly easy to come by, but yeah, they would be formidable.

This prospect pool is easily top 10 and arguably top 5.
It is top 5-10, but it still lacks gamebreaking potential elite players. It's like when the Wild had a ridiculous pool with Brodin, Granlund, Coyle, Zucker, etc. Great talent, but still lacking the final core pieces.

I guess, but what depth does he really provide? He has single digit goals the last three years. If he wasn't one of the worst draft busts of all time you wouldn't even be considering him.

You are not wrong. I think of it almost like a cheap scratch off ticket with an infinitesimal chance at a huge payout. For a buck, why not roll the dice? If he had even a hint of an attitude problem, I'd say to stay far away, but by all accounts he's a great teammate. If he's not blocking anyone, it can't hurt to bring him in for a year or two. It's not like the team is going anywhere this year as it is.

It`s like jump from a bridge kind of sunday, but it could be much worse.
We could give away an elite player with 0 assets in return - not that we have any yet, but my point still stand.

We aren't nearly as bad enough to pick in the top 4 as well. Hank will refuse to let that happen since he's always so damn good.
