Chapter 2: Sages tend to sleep on other people’s couchesMy card playing brother in law is a sage.
Can't both be true? Couldn't it be so Fubar that Lou was still an improvement?Wait, I thought signing Lou was getting back to "respectability".![]()
He's going to sign Lehner to 3x3 lolLou's going to try to find a goalie. I have no doubt about that. There aren't any Brodeur's laying around on the ground to be picked up though. Lehner IMO is the best proven NHL free agent goalie out there who won't cost him anything more than the terms of his contract. So it wouldn't surprise me at all if the Isles sign him. Barring that I think he works a trade but it will cost him to get a quality goalie.
The Rangers currently have 5 signed goalies--Lundqvist, Georgiev, Mazanec, Halverson and Nell. They have 4 prospect goalies--Shesterkin, Lindbom, Huska and Wall. I'm not sure we need to add another goalie to be honest and I'm not sure I'd want Lehner anyway. If the Isles do sign him--it might be a bit of an upgrade over Halak but it's going to be pretty average goaltending for them if he's their main guy.
Very happy we didn't splurge on any UFA here. There are only a small handful of UFA signings that actually end up working out. Hopefully we get a good look at the kids and they get every opportunity to establish themselves.
Top line minutes for Buch too.
You're drunk bud. I'm not touching that albatross without a big payment. $6M for 5 more years? Riiiight.
Lou has never shied away from spending on a goalie. Schneider and Andersson for 1sts. Craig Anderson asked for a trade. With the limited destinations, I can see a fair trade being made.Lou's going to try to find a goalie. I have no doubt about that. I would operate just like you. Lou is Lou, and I'm curious about how he goes about building this team. Anderson could be a good place holder. At this point I wouldn't waste assets on a goalie, they're not going to be a playoff team this year.
I would see if I could get a boat load of futures for Lee, Eberle, Leddy, Nelson, etc.
Yes. It's a brutal deal to take on. Would take a huge payment to get out of that mistake for them.Just checked capfriendly...omg, I can't imagine the Rangers taking on that contract. He also has a NMC, so the Oilers would need his permission.
Maybe hold off on celebrating the demise of the Islanders. We're headed in the same direction.
When they lose good players it's "lol Piles" but when we lose good players it's a rebuild with a plan that will result in multiple championships.
Funny how that works.
yeah, except we missed the playoffs just ONE year (so far) and already built a top 5-10 prospect pool. The Piles have been rebuilding for 20 years and have nothing to show for it.Maybe hold off on celebrating the demise of the Islanders. We're headed in the same direction.

Our prospect pool is getting overrated. It has almost no potential gamebreakers, as usual.yeah, except we missed the playoffs just ONE year (so far) and already built a top 5-10 prospect pool. The Piles have been rebuilding for 20 years and have nothing to show for it.
I love that Tampa is stuck with McDonagh for 8 years hahaha. That contract is going to look awful in 2021

Who do you consider a gamebreaker and how do you know we have no potential gamebreakers when most of the players on top of our prospect pool were drafted in the last two years?
