People generally don’t sign immediately upon the open of free agency only to be traded at that years deadline
 
TML is no closer to a cup until they add 2 defenseman. I would bet Nashville is appealing. Doubt Skjei is enough to land Nylander or Marner. Matt Martin helps the deal but still way off. Next level managing would be taking Horton's contract and flipping it to Ottawa in a Karlsson deal. Insured contract but counts against the cap.

We are in a better spot today because the whole league upped the stupidity. Be patient and available for the next Panarin-Saad type trade. It's not happening tonight, but they will get desperate.

Was looking at a guy like Frk or Burakovsky but both ended up re-signing. There was talk in Pittsburgh this year about Sprong not being a favorite of Sully and I was hoping he might shake loose. Fabbri in St. Louis is an interesting one, especially with them adding Perron to an already deep winger group.

I'd be surprised if it was a defensemen though. I think the team wants to give Pionk and ADA a real shot at consistent NHL minutes this year. They need to see what they have in ADA. Unless Skjei gets moved for that elusive forward, I think we're rolling into the fall with Staal, Skjei, Shatty, ADA, Pionk, and a rotation of O'Gara and Gilmour.

I’m not upset they didn’t hand out bad contracts . I just feel that everyone thought something else was gonna be done today by the rangers and I come on here and everyone here acts like they expected this the whole time and it’s a great move etc .

Listen I’m happy we didn’t give out a bad contract but at the same time there is good deals to be made . It’s easy to point to the worse one and say “ you want that “ etc .. but let’s actually have a good discussion if JF could have made some deals or moves . I feel he’s getting major pass on everything he does .
 


Kukan is very underrated, and I'd prefer him to a guy like O'Gara for 3LD. I'd also absolutely love to get Lukas Sedlak from Columbus too

Add Nick Shore to this list too as a UFA target .

Yeah, I’d take a flyer on some underperforming kids from some team looking to move on at some point. I am fine with that defense. I couldn’t care less about going for it this year or even winning in general.

Actually, the board has been split. There are a few of us who been saying don’t expect much. And there are others who were convinced that the Rangers had cap space and were going to blow it.
