Kind of surprised some of you didn't figure it out during the lead up to the draft when I was hot for Koktaniemi.

Dumb that Snow didn't try to move Tavares. If the guy wasn't going to commit to them by the deadline the risk of losing him for nothing was real. How many times have we seen this before. Lou saw it before when Parise stuck it to him.

Anyway that's a big hole right there and Barzal is going to get a lot more attention this year because he's going to be seeing more of every team's best defensive players. Lou needs to find a goalie as well.

Stamkos did the same thing and ended up resigning with TB. It's a lot easier to say now that they should have dealt him at deadline. Definitely was a tuff situation for them to be in

Did he have a NTC? Otherwise you ask him to sign a new deal and if he doesn't take it you move his ass for whatever you can get. Doubly true when you aren't a playoff contender.

Per cap level its comparable to what we gave Gomez.
