Having seen that panel though, where were they wrong? It’s not a cup contender as constructed.

On top of that, we’ve lost guys off the roster, we have gotten worse.

They are basically the same team as last year, did people think they were last year?

I'd argue the goaltending is as good, D is better, and forward depth is slightly worse.

TSN is terrrrrrrible.

Button is saying Leafs got worse, so I am happy so far.

technically he aint wrong....

leafs lost
- mikheyev, kase, spezza (25 pts)

- goalie situation is a toss up, basically a gamble -> "hail mary"

- sandin/engvall not signed yet

not much cap space left either

"Look at the stupid Leafs not spending every cent of capspace they have on anyone who is available like the rest of the NHL! How do they expect to win without overpaid plugs in the lineup?"
Whether they’re overpaid or underpaid our bottom 6 is still full of plugs lol

We have lost cobra soup and boosh... The mentality was very similar last year and we had one of the better seasons in franchise history. I get the playoff woes is a absolute pain in the ass but let's not get too hasty here

Mrazek and Murray are equally injury prone, Mrazek had better stats last 3 years

Samsonov or Campbell ? Campbell was better this year.

Our defense lost Lybushkin, didn’t add anyone. Internal growth? Maybe.

Up front they lost Mikhayev and Blackwell, probably Kase too.

TSN roasting Dubas. They’re right that the leafs are farther from the cup. Dubas should have been fired 3 seasons ago and yet he’s still here making garbage moves.

The majority of our team hasn’t changed. The parts that really matter anyway. The goaltending is different but potentially better if healthy. Lost Boosh / added Gio from day 1 which is a more than net positive trade off. Forward group is a real work in progress, but it’s also 4 hours into free agency. I liked Mik but he’s replaceable. Engvall is likely re-signed. Kampf stays. Kerfoot is likely flipped to improve depth throughout the group and get some assets back.

I’m not worried currently. Talk to me again in sept/oct if nothing has changed

Personally, I won't miss Mik, Kase, Spezza or Campbell.

As our studs go, the team goes.
