Maybe today is the day that Dubas announces the Engvall and Sandin contracts to make up for the lack of splash otherwise on the free agent market.

Malgin lol, he sucked in his audition here.

So what are we thinkin?

Who is a good 3c target that won’t break the bank?

Assuming Holl and Kerfoot are both moved for picks:

Bring in: marchment, ZAR, maybe take a flyer on subban if he’ll come dirt cheap, sign a backup like samsonov or Comrie
I'm starting to get the sense that Kerfoot and Holl are sticking around now. Think they probably would have been moved by now.

I’m interested to see if he’s improved but the Leafs need to bring in some different types kf wingers for the bottom 6 too

Either that or you go all out pure speed and skill up front. I mean they virtually had no sandpaper up front and had Tampa on the mat.

Can't see the team moving Kerfoot or Holl. They love them.

Ottawa could easily be the most improved team in the division by the time the season starts.
Meh. Tkachuk and DeBrincat are great, but the rest of their forwards are currently 2nd line players at best. Stutzle can be better, but Norris likely regresses from the sky high sh%, and Batherson is likely who he is. Their depth F are... meh. Besides Chabot and Zub they're a mess on the defensive side hoping that Sanderson immediately steps into a top-4 role because Hamonic, Zaitsev, and Brannstrom sure haven't been "it". Talbot has been an under average goalie for like 3 years now, and has been playing for a great defensive team, good luck. Forsberg has had one [admittedly] great season and he's about to turn 30- who knows if that will keep up.

Adding DeBrincat and a worse goalie than Murray, with their young guys hopefully taking a step isn't going to turn this team into a playoff team. Giroux would help, but like... this team needs a complete overhaul defensively and a real star to emerge at F.

Sens gunna have a pretty good team next year. Wouldn't be shocked if they challenge Boston for a playoff spot considering all the injuries Boston is starting the year with.

Yes definitely. Sooner or later they'll have to take a leap of faith and a rebuilding team starts to turn things around

They have a lot of good pieces in Norris, Debrincat, Tkachuck, Batherson, Stutzle, Chabot. Stutzle should be taking it to another gear this year

I have my money on them to take the 8th spot

Leafs need to start being petty. Start complaining about the Oilers and Campbell
It won't work. The Leafs aren't the Flyers or Bruins or Rangers. The NHL doesn't care.

Oh dear. He just won't let that one die will he.

This tendency to prioritize proving yourself to have been the clever boy can be a fatal flaw when you're no longer sitting in the catbird seat.

So apparently we're letting go a HoF type goalie according to the mains. Funny how that works.

Wish good health to Campbell and good vibes outside hockey, but hope he gives the oilers sub 850% save percentage for the next 5 years. Lol

NHL put Leafs in North Division. Easiest division in last 25 years of NHL hockey
An easy path to Stanly Cup finals.

It's not NHL that doesn't care about the Leafs.............Leafs don't care about the Leafs
Yeah I bet the NHL despise the idea of the extra 50 million dollars for the Leafs going to the final.

Jack is a very good guy. I wish him the best. Very likeable guy
Welcome to NHL 2022. You don't have to be good, just good enough. Connor is the guy who'll do the rest

Isn't Strome quite slow and not very physical? I've even heard him many times considered to be a low intensity type of player.

Not sure that's the type of player we should be looking to add to our bottom 6.
100%.

He is a decent secondary scorer but he isn't very fast, not great defensively, only had 11 hits all year. He really doesn't offer much of anything that the Leafs need. I remember watching him in the playoffs for Erie back in junior and when the speed and intensity ramped up, he was invisible. Do not want him near this team.

We need more Bunting types that have a motor, plays with a bit of bite and can chip in some points here and there.

It's Malgin. There are dozens of players the Leafs need more than Malgin. I get we've got no money and have to kind of take whatever we can, but at this rate, we're actually going to be worse than last year.

A leopard does not change his spots. Either it works or Dubas dies on that hill.
