US inflation hitting 9.1% today....for a gate revenue driven league, certainly makes me wonder.

Why trade for Muzzin, Kerfoot or Holl when you can find UFAs for nothing but cash at flat cap rates.

Because to sign them in FA, would cost significantly more than what they are signed for.... Incredibly inflated prices.

I hate that we still have Kerfoot and signed Gaudette and didn't go for Marchment. Perfect fit for us IMO and would dynamize the 2nd line. Kerfoot for all his wonderful microstats does not drive play, forecheck, physically intimidate and can't win faceoffs, I do not understand why Dubas is so in love with him.

As a Leafs fan I'm thrilled with the Tampa contracts (this year), about as happy as they are to see our goalie situation.

Tampa may actually like their long-term contracts if the cap does start going p soon.
