along with a Lapierre signing. i would not mind Grabovski on this team.. he would help the PP that is for sure.. i hope Sather tries for him... low risk high reward type transaction

My guess for tomorrow?
Pyatt is traded.
Grabovski is signed for 4 years to play LW which he can do.
Blum is signed for depth on the blue line.

When has Grabovski played LW? I think he's been a center his whole career.
He's played some LW in Tor
dont really have any interest in signing grabovski when his former team with a lot of cap space would rather not have him on the team.
I wouldn't mind him as a 2 yr stopgap. 2yrs 10 mil.
he had 16 points last year in like 48 games. i dont see where he would play. he wasnt producing offensively last season and would be our 4th best C offensively and isnt as good as boyle is in his own end. if we are signing a player to play wing then sign a winger and one that isnt going to be overpaid and played out of position.
He's usually around 50+ points and Richards will be gone next year so he could be the 3rd c going forward
Oof.. People put too much stock in one bad year for players. They do happenso we are signing a C longterm now who is coming off a 16 point season and was bought out by the leafs who have pretty ****** C situation? stepan/brassard/lindberg/miller are our most likely long term C depth.
i want to get bobby ryan.. if flyers were rumors Coburn, 11th overall for Ryan or something like that....
I would give up..
MDZ, Pyatt(cap), Lindberg/Fast, 1st/2nd for Ryan
Ryan-Stepan-Callahan
Kreider-Richards-Nash
Haglin-Brassard-Kristo/Fast/Miller
Haley/Mash-Boyle-Dorsett
haley/Mash
Mcd-Girardi
Staal-Stralman
Moore-Falk/McIrath
Eminger
would try and get blum..
That's a lot to give up even for Ryan... If it's a second rounder I'll do it otherwise hell no.
Wasn't Grabo in the doghouse a lot last season?
There is talk, for instance, that Ryane Clowe, a player in whom the Canucks have long had interest, is fielding offers of five years for close to $5 million US per — this for a guy with a pretty worrisome concussion history who scored three goals last year. Talk about gambling on projected increased productivity.
Another free-agent option became available for the Detroit Red Wings today, when the Toronto Maple Leafs waived center Mikhail Grabovski for the purposes of buying out his contract.
Grabovski, a creative playmaker and good skater who can play center and the wing, is a close friend of Red Wings center Pavel Datsyuk, whom he idolizes. They played on the same line for CSKA Moscow during the NHL lockout this season.
The Red Wings will be seeking a second-line center when free agency begins Friday at noon, if, as expected, they're not able to re-sign Valtteri Filppula.

A taste of Grabovski on Carlyle: "Don’t put me on a [expletive] third line and then [expletive] play [me] six minutes in a game."
I don't want this guy on my team.
Sources confirming David Clarkson met with the Edmonton Oilers today in Edmonton.
Oof.. People put too much stock in one bad year for players. They do happen
Yes. Carlyle is a ******* idiot and didn't like Grabovski for some reason and basically burried him in the lineup even though he has consistently been one of the better players for Toronto and took on a ton of hard minutes and produced offensively at the same time. The Leafs buying him out is an indication that they're dumb, not that Grabovski is a bad player
