He's the only available RHD who played 20+ minutes on a playoff team. Hes also consistently been a positive offensive force his entire career. He's been mostly healthy. Some of his advanced stats are good.

That said, his plus/minus on mostly good teams is deeply concerning.

Did I read somewhere today that our internal cap is like 78Mil or around there? If so (and I could be making this up its been a wild day), we still have a good amount of cash available

I saw a tweet that it was suppose to be between 74-76m from Leblanc on tsn 1200 now I can’t find it anywhere
 
I'm kind of hoping now the RHD we get is Klingberg if it's not an absurd price. Would be great to not have to spend assets to acquire another dman. That way we can ship off the 2nd from brown and another pick or two to ditch Zaitsev and we're set.

And then we can try and get Weegar next year when he's UFA.

I spent a bit of time on the Dallas board during the playoffs. Basically Dallas fans feel about Klingberg the way Sens fans feel about Zaitsev.

They used to love him. They always used to say he was better than Karlsson. LOL

Unfortunately, fan opinions are one of the more accurate ways to assess a player. Like crowdcourced knowledge.

Klingberg seemingly wants a major deal and shouldn't be the target imo, I think we need a Methot type to round the D out...Manson would have been ideal imo especially for what he signed for and being UFA.

Seems like he wants to be completely out of the spotlight and Columbus is one of the most lowkey hockey markets in the league

I don’t even think JBd and Thomson will start the year in Ottawa.

If we don’t bring someone in we will be rolling with Zaitsev in the top 4 and that will kill our playoff chances.

Eventually I think at least one will. But it will take some time. I think the best scenario is land Chychrun with his contract, and by the time it coming up we can flip him and JBD can take his spot.
