Looking forward to the video package when Rantanen returns to Carolina
Looking like Stankoven is the first piece
This trade is gonna be terrible for Carolina they are gonna wish they still had NecasLooking like Stankoven is the first piece
It's pretty likely Dallas and Colorado play each other in the first round of the playoffs.Lol dallas gets rantanen. What a bloodbath
Respect Carolina for not being delusional about what was going on here. They took a shot, offered a monster contract to Rantanen and he didn't want to be there. That's life in the modern NHL; if you aren't one of the handful of no-tax meme teams you pretty much can't compete any longer.
It is kind of a disaster situation for the Hurricanes, although I guess I should reserve final judgment on that until I see exactly what they get from Dallas. But on some level I have to respect them for going for it.To be honest this was a massive mistake and it was an easily avoidable one.
They had a player making 6.5M who was a great fit on their roster with an additional year and they traded him for a player who was shocked to be dealt and they had no clue if he wanted to sign there.
You’re right that a few teams have advantages but this was a dumb move that backfired. I’m a GM no way I’m trading Necas for someone unless I know 100% he is signing with my team. I look at this situation and it really has nothing to do with the tax free states and the hot weather. It’s really a GM making a huge huge mistake.
Right now they could be adding to what they already had but at this stage they are taking a step back and that’s really a tough go for a team that was looking for more offense. They end up losing some.
I haven’t waffled. So something may or may not happen. It might be trade related but it might not be. Wow, you're giving Dreger a run for his money with that waffling lol
I haven’t waffled.
Sens operating outside of the norm on trade day tomorrow. Their “setup” for tomorrow if very different than in the past, but that’s as much as I’ll say.
Brazeau off the board.
Considering yet another very positive night in the out of town scoreboard, it'd be unfortunate if Staios can't give this team any sort of boost.
Even the mental aspect of "okay we're going for it" would be good for this group, who's only ever known selling.
IMO, we either take the next step, make the playoffs, and keep this core together. Or we miss and enter a retool in the summer. So what's like a 2nd and 3rd to make a bit of an upgrade now?
what the hell does that even mean lolI haven’t waffled.

Wait and find out. It's a surprise.what the hell does that even mean lol
The players are acting as management and the management staff are suiting up for practice on the ice. Nick Cousins is making the trades.what the hell does that even mean lol
Dallas wants to add to those pieces. Not swap them.If Carolina doesn’t get Johnston Or Robertson, they have lost their minds IMO
Sounds like Rantanen would sign long-term in Dallas.
Stankoven and or Bourque would be so underwhelming
Maybe have more staff around than is typical?what the hell does that even mean lol
They pretty much already wish they still had necasThis trade is gonna be terrible for Carolina they are gonna wish they still had Necas
