I’m guessing that because he’s 29, Zub will be looking for more than a short term deal. It’ll be his last chance to cash in.

With his injury problems, mediocre play recently, and Yakemchuk coming, I think they’ll steer clear.
Only problem with that scenario (trading Zub) is that they’ll be looking to add another RD if they think Yakemchuk is not ready. And, RDs can be hard to find, especially if you’re looking for a good RD that somehow would accept a short contract.

Kreider doesn't really throw the body around that much. He has 24 hits in 19 games this year.
He might be slowing down but over the last 3 years/180 games, he's had 251 hits. He hit more when he was younger, but makes sensefor him to decline in that stat but would be funny if his hitting bug reignites if playing with Tkachuk.

The amount of space Stu would have to dangle and score would be insane

Kreider would be fine if it's a Perron type situation where they must know they are overpaying in cap+term to get a veteran, but they place a high priority on adding that kind of voice in the room.

Kreider is very clearly on the decline. He will either go to a team whose window is closing in a way that they don't really care about what he brings in year 2 or 3, and just want to get him at a discount because the Rangers need to move out the contract. Or, he will be forced to go to somewhere like Chicago or San Jose, where they don't care if he declines on the ice because his job is partly to insulate and mentor the young stars.

There might be an argument for doing Norris for Kreider if we believe the term Norris has makes him a major liability. It's trading one liability for a lesser liability since Kreider has less cap and term.

Like, as in a Kleven Jiricek pairing, or Kleven for Jiricek?

I don't know if he is verified as an HFBoards insider, so I would take it with a grain of salt.

I would guess that if we go after Jiricek, it's either Greig or Pinto, and Norris is here forever. As in, they shopped Norris and realized there was no market, so they pivoted to moving one of the other Cs.

What other pieces do we possibly have that they might ask for? Yakemchuk? That's a no. Our 1st round pick? That's a no because we cannot protect it due to the Dadonov conundrum.

Maybe something like Pinto for Jiricek and a veteran bottom 6 forward.

Someone is going to be very happy with the Jiricek trade, unfortunately I’m not sure the Sens have the ability to make that kind of a deal.

No prospects/picks available that CBJ would want. Greig I guess would be the most marketable?

I would guess that it would have to be Greig, Pinto, or Yakemchuk.

The only way it is Norris is if a bunch of bad money is coming back to us. They have a few questionable contracts. Boone Jenner is on LTIR for the rest of the year apparently and still has a year left after this one. Merzlikins has 3 years left at over 5M.

I just can’t see it from Sens value wise.

It’s another Turris trade, but Jiricek is probably the more valuable of the two.

Gave up a very highly thought of prospect (regardless of why he turned into) in Rundblad, and a 2nd.

I don't see Jiricek as a fit given (1) it's questionable whether he contribute right away and (2) they have a very similar prospect in Yakemchuk coming.

I'm sure they've inquired, because why not, but I doubt they're stepping up with the best offer.
