No they don't. Teams go through stretches where thier schedule is easier or harder, including game frequency and travel

If you have a sec, go on the NHL app and cycle through some teams and look at their calender schedule, and notice the results

Last year the Jets went though a funk before winning 7 to finish the season. Out of curiosity, I compared their schedule during that time with similar stretches for both Colorado and Dallas in their schedules earlier in the year... and they had the same ourcomes
