Apparently Matt Savoie.

Terrible offseason for the Sabres. Going to miss the playoffs for 14 years.
Adams makes Dorion look like a genius lmao. For as much flake as Sens get for drafting, whenever Sens pick high, the only time they busted was 2021 and even then they still got a good prospect in Ostapchuk in it. WTF has Buffalo done outside of the first round since they tanked? Samuelsson and Peterka (THanks Dorion)?

Bought out Jeff Skinner early for no reason
Biggest free agent signing is Jason Zucker
Traded a 2nd for Beck Malenstyn
Traded a recent top 10 pick for Ryan McLeod
Sitting on 17M in cap space with no chance of using it all

Don't think any team has had a worse off-season than the Sabres.

Good for us. With competent management that team could have been a contender by now.

Mcleoud and Joseph are similar players. Play the PK with top end speed bottom 6 guys.

How we made the deal that we did is baffling

I would much rather have Mcleod not that it makes any difference. Mcleod is a more versatile and smarter

I'd gladly have given up our recent 10OA for him

Oilers don't qualify Carter and trade for Matthew in the same off season.

Matthew was over 2 pts a game in the Dub last year

Sabres have like 27 undersized skilled wingers and probably aren’t that high on Savoie.

Not a great deal but they gotta try something I suppose.

Then why draft Savoie + Ostlund + Kulich in the same 1st round?

It was only two years ago and the same management group was in place.

The bolded are the funniest.

They paid Zucker $5 million, and with Skinner's $1.4 million dead cap, the Sharks have $6 million in wasted cap space. Skinner outscored Zucker last season, and probably will again this season.

If Adams has gone full Dorion, maybe we can trade him one of our not best contracts for something nice. Norris for Clifton, Peterka and a conditional 3rd that becomes a 2nd if we make the playoffs lol

I don’t think Adams has a real plan or a proper approach to team building.

But he’s almost the reverse Dorion. Sat on his hands a bit too long, now he’s gotta try and fix it quickly or he’s out.

Uh, ya. Not really that close imo. McLeod can play center for one, but he's just a better, more defensively responsible player.

I thought McLeod was pretty mediocre during the playoffs. Don’t know how he’ll look on Buffalo with less insulation but maybe I’m missing something with him.

I'd give Kylington a 1 year $1M contract. Slumped this season (so did all the Flames) but is one year removed from a 31 point season where he was a +34.
We have $3.6M left to spend and 2F + 1D to fill them and keep some $$$ for injury callus from Belleville. Would be nice if could get someone who is either a vet and can still play at the NHL pace or a prospect reclamation project with some promise.
