We need lots of things & improvements. We were 13th worst in Goals For/Game. We’ll need a lot more from players in top of our lineup as well like Stutzle and Norris who we hope will be healthy.I'm not hoping. It's a necessity. At least if Ottawa wants to make the playoffs.
Kleven-JBD might not make some AHL team's top pair. They're not fit enough to be a regular bottom pair. We need someone experienced.
And that 4th line is atrocious. The NHL is about depth. We need it in spades and it starts with minimum another 4th line (on the higher end like Cousins) and a another bottom pair (on the higher end like Shatty).
Top 5 protected 2025 first, turns into a 2027 1st if we finish bottom 5. Florida did similar with the tank 4th rounder, they didn't have a 2024 or 2025 3rd they were willing or able to give us so the condition was for a 2026 pick. Can’t protect their pick for 2 years
In the last few games of the Stanley Cup final, McLeod was good actually.I thought McLeod was pretty mediocre during the playoffs. Don’t know how he’ll look on Buffalo with less insulation but maybe I’m missing something with him.
It’s all a blur now, I’ll take your word for itIn the last few games of the Stanley Cup final, McLeod was good actually.
Edmonton’s depth in the Cup finals was actually good and quite noticeable. They often got the first goals in the game and got the Oilers going. McLeod was productive in the last five games of the Cup finals with 3 goals and 3 assists. It’s all a blur now, I’ll take your word for it

Too much. Give them a second round pick and JBD for Rutger McGroarty.Rutger for Ottawa first ( top 5 protected ) + JBD. Let’s go Steve

Winnipeg hangs up the phone on that offer. They might as well get the compensatory 2nd rounder by keeping him.
How is it too much ? We'd be lucky to draft a forward like McGroarty with our next 1st. Especially if we're contending for a wild card spot. I would have been happy if we took him at 7 where CHI took Korchinski, it's very fair getting a blue chip forward on a ELC and fits into our goal of exiting the rebuild into competing now vs using the pick next year.
No shot. None of these guys are even in the same stratosphere as YakemchukYakemchuk for McGroarty and a 3rd or a prospect... No need to trade a top 5 protected pick.
We seem to have some improved RD depth in the system now.

Agreed on their upside on D... but you are not trading for one of themNo shot. None of these guys are even in the same stratosphere as Yakemchuk
Didn’t they just sign him last night?
Also isn’t he decent bottom pair guy.

I would not move Brady just because we have BoucherAgreed on their upside on D... but you are not trading for one of them
I here from Dev Camp reports that Hoyt Stanley out performed Yakemchuk by a fair margin

It was 3v3 from the blue line in. Not much space.I would have expected Yak to shine in 3 on 3.
Not just the scrimmage there were positive reports on Stanley other than that.
I am just saying he is a prospect with a future .. not comparing his future to Yakemchuk'sIt was 3v3 from the blue line in. Not much space.
