Is Pinto an important piece? At this point in his career I'd say there's been a lot more sizzle than there's been steak.I could see the Sens offering Greig, the Rangers asking for Pinto, and the two sides reaching a stalemate.
I don't see the Sens moving Pinto at this point. Even if he's having poor start, he's such an important piece in the lineup and as insurance for Norris.
I have no idea what he is as an NHL player. Outside of a 20 game run centering Tkachuk last season he's never been very productive. Defensive results have been adequate. He's soft. Doesn't seem to handle the puck or distribute it the way you'd hope a top-6 center would. Impressive physical profile though.
He couldn't fill in for Norris right now even if we needed him to - he's just not playing well enough.
I would think Pinto is a prime candidate to be moved.
