Well we had already lost Formenton for a year and I don't think anyone thought he would play for us again, let alone in the NHL. A Batherson suspension would be quite surprising given the team went to bat for him last season and it ended with an "A" on his jersey, while Formenton was tossed into the sun.

I’m just speculating on this one but I would guess Formenton is JD1 from the filings. So he will likely receive the harshest punishment.

I do find all this frustrating given the Blackhawk’s thing and that the team may be punished.

I hope I’m wrong and see both in the sens uni next season.

I do think criticism should be sent to London police for dragging this out. Either lay charges or don’t. This is just a reflection of their incompetence. EM or whatever her name is will eventually speak. She took the cash already.

All in all friends, stay in the lives of your children. If you have a daughter or a son about to break into the show. This all could have been avoided with more parental influence.

We didn't have depth even with DeBrincat. Tarasenko + Kubalik both are supposed to replace DeBrincat's cap. Batherson should never have been a factor in the equation.

That doesn’t address what I said though, it allows for Tatar (@2-3 million) and Pinto, not enough for Garland and Pinto.

Well the CBA decides that, not the NHL and it's quite clear about suspensions and the cap implications. As for Garland, presumably you're trading something for him, so for example you could give them Joseph, or get them to retain.

That's not how LTIR works, that move would not change our situation at all.

Using the numbers available via Capfriendly, our cap is currently at $82.6M leaving just under $900k in cap space. If we were to sign Donskoi to 1 year, $3 million and then LTIR, this would be the effect on our cap:

1) Sign Donskoi to 1 year, $3 million: Sens total cap hit for this year increases from $82.6M to $85.6M, leaving them $2.1M over the cap (Donskoi's cap hit has to count towards our total before placing him on LTIR)

2) Place Donskoi on LTIR: the $3M cap hit stops counting on the Sens cap, bringing Ottawa back to a total cap hit of $82.6M with $900k in cap room

I like the attempt to get creative to find a way to fit in Pinto, but LTIR does not create additional cap space, it rather allows teams to not have a salary count against the cap if that player is out long-term.

I'm just throwing crap that isn't even wet hoping it would stick. Summer boring and i'm starved for hockey
