I disagree with you there. Karlsson had one great season in San Jose (last year). He was largely believed to have one of the worst contract in the NHL for a few years. That's not really true, it's just a reputation he got because he had 1 horrendous season. Karlsson was really good in San Jose with Burns on the team in all of 18-19, 19-20 and 21-22.
Dude would get rocked by a defenseman and be too scared to stand there again, not happeningRakell is more than fine, and in the bumper position, too.
Yeah, but with what?i'd have signed Zuck to that deal.
FWIW, I imagine that 99% of what Dubas does for this team will be via trades.
Dusting off Shero excusesUFA isnt a one way road. You also need the player to want to come here lol. Feel like everyone forgets that.

Also, the idea that Karlsson wasn't good in San Jose with Burns isn't true.

He was just really, really goddamn bad in 20202-2021. Outside of that, he was consistently giving strong results. He likely won't repeat what he did in 2022-2023, but he was still a lethal offensive play driver.
Carolina has like 3m in cap space now. Surely theyre out on EK
