Devils don't/won't have a team that will be a threat for a deep playoff run. You see it every year. The complexion of the game changes drastically the second playoff-hockey begins. Tight checking games, with brutal physicality and zone guarding. Sure, the devils have skilled players that can score points in the regular season, but once the flip switches to playoff style hockey, their players won't have the time and space anymore and you'll quickly see how they'll lose one on one battles as well as battles for space in front of the net. They'll get pushed around and shut down.

Johnny to njd is done. If they can figure out goalie theyll sneak into playoffs. Thats a really good first line with johnny and hughes

Kadri is gonna be 32 and just had the point total of his life on a stacked offensive team. 7 years is ridiculous unless he's taking under 6 million. please pass.

The last 30 plus centers we gave long term deals to were Drury and Richards. Brad helped short term but we got very lucky being able to buy him out for free.

Trocheck for 6 years, 4.5 per year

IMO, Avs just showed with enough speed (total speed of your game including moving the puck) you can break through. Tampa tried to run that playbook and had the ice tilted against them most of the series. Devils are setting up to be similar "pinball wizards".

Would that even be legal? The Kadri thing.

yep. Can you imagine having a 35 year old Kadri making 7-8 million per (and still having 3-4 more years left) while we have guys like Laffy and hopefully Kakko hitting their peak? Unless the cap is going up to well over 100 million would be disaster. We need to pay guys like Laffy and Miller. The ones that will really put us over the top.

Cap will be tight for 2 years... then it takes off... along with the NMCs falling off.

We're fine
